Ingredients…human grade if possible. Real, whole food, not byproducts and not chicken/ fish/whatever meal. Ethically/humanely sourced is super important to me. I wish these values were front and center.
Thank you for your input!! 😊
honestly - vet recommendation trumped all. i was willing to pay more but my vet recommended a brand fairly widely available that i can get on Amz subscription.
Awesome! Thank you so much! 😊
Awww cute doggo

I like seeing large font nutritional information on labels, it's helpful.

I have giant breed dogs and it was important to find a food formulated for them. It's VERY difficult.
D1 - other than it stating the breed & its benefits to the breed, what are some nutritional facts you see and know are beneficial to your doggo's breed? What did the switch to RC - assuming you've used other brands before (if not, feel free to ignore (: ) & the process of purchasing it for the first time look like (i.e. ingredients research/product comparison, vet rec, etc)?
Thank you!!
Recommended by other dog parents of the same breed (that’s how we found our bulldog’s food, which totally improved her coat and skin). Natural ingredients, packaging doesn’t look cheap. The food actually smells like its main ingredient (fish)
You know there's already a very popular and respected site out there with that information, right?
I research foods before I go to the pet store or chewy. Im looking for something without a bunch of sugars (no matter the name) and unnecessary fillers. I also try to stay away from pea protein, and I went back to grain foods because my dog developed an allergy to many grain free foods.
People nutrition and dog/pet nutrition are nothing alike, btw. Pet foods have vitamins and nutrients added because pets eat so relatively little compared to people that they'd suffer malnutrition without them. That's why it's not a great idea to cook your pets' meals yourself unless you've also got all of the supplements in correct quantities to add to each meal.
