This post is out of love in the spirit of being constructive and helping Black consultants.

This bowl seems extremely difficult to contribute to with a threat of immediate removal if a perspective is shared that you personally do not like. It seems you have planted a flag that this is your bowl, with your rules, and not the community's bowl to try to come to the best solution/advice. If someone is removed from this bowl because you personally as an individual find the comment unhelpful, even if the community at large does find value in it, I don't believe you are accomplishing what you hope to achieve.

It's frustrating that I feel you'll likely remove me from this bowl for this comment, too, when my goal is the same as yours. There might be more volume of discussion and diversity of thought here to drive better outcomes if people weren't afraid to speak about what they believe will help young Black consultants the most.

I’ll share a few thoughts. Please let me know what you think

First and foremost - I am receiving your comment in the spirit that you are sending it. Thank you for sharing your perspective

My next thought is… If you are interested in helping junior black consultants navigate the world of consulting, then we are absolutely aligned

This next thought is something I want to be clear about: differences of opinion are not a reason for being suspended from this bowl. I believe that my post above is clear about that, and I’ll make it as clear as I can now: An easy way to get automatically suspended from this bowl is to engage in the nasty behavior that is fairly common in the rest of the app, such as name-calling, making fun of people, etc.

I have not removed anyone from this bowl based on a difference of opinion. The few people who have been removed, have been removed for violating the very simple asks that are posted in the thread that you referenced above - with one very specific exception: a whi1te identifying Hispanic male

As I shared in the post referenced above, Black people are not a monolith, and we will have differences of opinion. We can disagree without becoming disagreeable. I believe I used those words in that thread, but I’m happy to repeat them here

That is the flag that I’m planting

Black people are already experiencing trauma in corporate and so there’s no good reason for them to experience it in this bowl when they are trying to get help and support
