Suggestion: people would probably ask more questions if they knew who you were? Perhaps an introduction?

Good call! I will create a post soon that shares more about my background. Thanks for the idea.

Hi Melissa, thank you so much for your time :) I have a question, or perhaps a doubt - I have been working with a firm where I have a strong support system, good mentors, good career growth and added benefits. But from the mid-2020s I have started feeling restless and work doesn't excite me anymore. I just feel the monotony of doing same thing day in and out overwhelming. I've been making frequent mistakes and while my seniors are understanding, I do feel that complacency and lack of interest will aggravate the situation further. I have decided to search for more 'interesting' work outside my firm now. Does it sound like a wise decision?

Thanks for the question. It sounds like despite all the great components of your current job that it's just not satisfying some other need you have to be excited and engaged in your work. I often ask clients to articulate their "workview" before we dive into solutioning. Namely, what do you believe work should be about? What is it for? If your view of work is mostly about stability/money then you probably wouldn't be feeling this way. I assume that you have additional hopes that your work provide you more stimulation/meaning/purpose than it currently does. There's nothing wrong with that. I think doing experiments and indulging your curiosity about other paths is a healthy exercise. How can you learn about yourself and what lights you up without quitting your job yet? And if it's hard to work full time and also figure out what's next, do you have sufficient resources saved up to be able make the leap and then take 6 months of savings and use that time to find out what's next. I do think this is a situation where working with a coach can be helpful to have a sounding board and someone to help you connect insights about what it is that you truly are looking for. Hope this helps!

I know some of y'all love baking bread and seeing your kids, but many of us don't have (or want) families and need the office and travel experience to be happy and healthy. Is it really worth destroying our careers, eroding our pay, reducing our prestige and impacting our mental health?

So my wife basically said she doesn’t want to have sex anymore. Don’t want to do anything about it. After couple kids, doesn’t feel it anymore. Also said it wasn’t anything I did and there’s no one else. I understand women’s body changes after child birth but can’t help thinking it’s gonna suck being in a sexless marriage. We’re still attractive and haven’t turned into couch potatoes…yet Happy Thanksgiving!

Why don't the insurance companies just say we won't pay for your care if you get covid and could have been vaccinated?

I’ve never understood why people are so insistent on vaccine mandates. If the vaccine works and you get the jab, you should be fine. It’s wrong for the vaccinated to view the unvaccinated as a threat to them if the vaccine works.

In an internal call today, I made reference to how I feel like were living in Atlas Shrugged: incompetent government, virtue signaling, etc. My EM called me a few hrs later and said the BA felt my reference to Ayn Rand was a “microaggression” that made her feel “unsafe” and was inflicted “violence” on her mental health and complained to the EM.
