Need words of wisdom and encouragement to stay calm. Rationally I know I need to stay still for a couple of months (3-4 months), but emotionally I am not entirely happy. I am impatient; I have a goal and I want to hit it. I am competitive; I have friends who are ahead of me financially and I want to catch up. But right now I am not able to make moves. Approved by doctor/HR to remain remote and it’s not going over well( we were told we would remain remote, which included giving up our desks, but are now being asked to come in two days). The person who seemed the most annoyed by my request is my direct boss. I found it odd because she announced she was only doing one day because she was pregnant and the director was basically like “ok”. I don’t want to put a target on my back and I do enjoy the work. Should I just bite the bullet and come in?

Venting: but I need some advice. My immediate boss is fraternizing with a staff very inappropriate and gives favoritism to this individual. I spoke to him about it and HR has also communicated with me about it. Recently, an incident happened where I gave VTO to individual and he was unhappy and decided to call me all sorts of names, I got HR involved and he was suspended. Now, my boss seems to be out for me, throwing me under the bus and not once has he asked about the incident. Advice please!!

I want to learn to ask for what I want at work re: salary, opportunities to work on projects that grow skill sets versus only using the skills I was hired for. But I find that culturally I’ve been fighting this mental space that says don’t make waves, work hard because it’s the right thing to do. Tips for working with a very big-personality Sales Director? He is a micro-manager-type that is always on you about things that is not his place, I want to tell him to stay in his lane so much. I am very much NOT that way and give my team lots of ownership/responsibility.

We actually get along very well, but there are some weeks where I should/want to say something so he understands how condescending his tone is.
