Hello I am interviewing for a Deloitte controllership as a Senior Consultant. Could someone provide some background on this position and your experience? TIA
As an AAE, is there hope of getting a salary bump while you're in this position? Or do you have to wait until you're promoted in title as well?
1 year and 3 month with two busy season experience, CPA licensed and CFE passed (don’t have two year experience yet), on a visa. What are the chances of me getting in forensic consulting? I’ve been cold calling people around but don’t seem like they are currently hiring.
I’m in a pickle. Currently working in multistate tax and I am not a fan. I just accepted a position with KPMG on their methods team (it sounds like interesting work and I’m sick of compliance). I put in my notice and my Deloitte manager is trying to fight for me. He wants to match the pay they are offering and get me into a group that I like more. I am a ball of anxiety. Loved the people I met with for KPMG, but having my manager push so hard for me is making me have second thoughts. Any input?
For a non-technical PM looking to get more tech experience (and eventually exit) what is best use of time: data science course, web development course, AWS cert.?
I had an interview with a recruiter for a financial company for a GC role. She explained how they were having trouble finding candidates and that I seemed perfect. However, I feel that I'm totally not qualified for the position and that once it goes to the CLO I'll be shot down. Has this happened to anyone before where the recruiter thinks you're perfect but the hiring manager will not?
I received an offer from KPMG recently and filled out the office transfer form. Got a call with the news and a “congrats” email from the recruiter. I saw that my status for the original advisory position that wasn’t location based changed to “not under consideration,” however. What does this mean? I’m pretty confused lol
My team culture is aweful but I like the work itself, a lot. I want to apply for essentially the same job and role at a competitor firm. How do I respond to 'why do you want to switch?'
If anyone needs a referral to PwC advisory, hit me up. We're poor over here so I could use them referral bonuses.
Is Con Don mentally stable? He does not stay on topic, rambles a lot during rally's, fights over cover up during infra talks etc. See a sampling of news articles. https://www.npr.org/2018/10/03/654084691/china-wants-to-end-trade-war-but-u-s-position-keeps-changing-ambassador-says https://www.npr.org/2019/05/22/725696057/democrats-to-get-doj-documents-but-dispute-rages-on-between-hill-and-white-house

Tenured Deloitte Manager. Not happy with Partners I’m working with. I’m supposed to present for SM but don’t want to. Chances of landing an SM role with other Big4?
If I join Deloitte in 2022 Jan for 'Business technology analyst' role, when will I get promotion to 'Consultant'?
I enjoy Big 4 but absolutely hate the line of work that I’m in. Up for (and should get) promotion to senior this May/June. Do I talk about transitioning to a new LOS at year end reviews with relationship leader? Or do I jeopardize promotion by hinting at wanting to leave? Either way, I’m out by the fall.
What are people experiencing about going from a small local firm to big 4 or RSM or BDO? What is the learning curve? Do people think differently of you since you didn’t go straight to big 4?
Anyone works at a Card division of Capital One? Specifically interested in Business Analyst position, have a call with recruiter on Thursday. If anyone can share some insights about pay (Tysons, VA), company culture, work-life balance, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
EY maternity leave, do you get 16 weeks plus Short Term Disability? Or just the 16 weeks?
Has anyone 'traded up' their United status? I'm close to 80K PQM and have heard stories of folks sweet talking agents to get to the Platinum 1K. Last year's tradeup fees was like $3,000 😩😩
Hi, so I’ve been working as a (TCP temporary creative professional) while one of the agency’s employees was on leave. I understood it to be a FT position, clocking in, etc but last week a bunch of employees were on vacation and I didn’t get projects. My work from the week before was all approved, so I had no edits. I asked for work, reached out, etc but ended up with very few billable hours, which annoyed the bosses. Now I’m not sure how to proceed. Do I NGAF, clock in? Or wait for work?
I have an Electrical engineering background and I have done c++ coding in the past. I have a masters in MIS. Currently I am in analytics role in finance where I use SAS and SQL. If you have a negative balance on your credit card (overpay every month) and use it until you go back to zero, do you still earn points/ cash rewards on your usage. Context: I am trying to see if I can essentially use my credit card as a debit card but still earn points at the same time.
I have 2 job offers, one in San Francisco and one with a Fortune 500 company in Nashville. Is going to San Francisco worth it if the pay is comparable?
I am at a Pharmaceutical Tech startup and we are hiring! We are looking for Product Mgrs who have 4+ years of exp in client facing roles where you gather requirements, design solutions, work with developers to build the solution, test the solution end-to-end, and deliver to the client. The work itself is very similar to what we do in consulting but you don't have to worry about firm activities, utilization, etc. Compensation is highly competitive DM a link to your resume if you are interested
Middle seat on the last flight out and now delayed because of missing flight attendant... who did I wrong in a past life? 😭
Looking to apply to EYP strategy as a senior associate/consultant. I have 2YOE in consulting (across EY and boutique) and a masters in accounting. Would anyone within the practice be able to give me an overview on the type of projects the practice sells, the type of work I’d be doing in my role, and any insights on the interview cycle? Haven’t applied yet, so a referral would also be appreciated (help me get you a referral bonus!)
Dealing with a hard client
Fishies, basic investment advice please! I have a Roth IRA with E*TRADE which I max. 10% to 401k (EY only matches up to 6%), and way too much just sitting in BOA checking. Does it make sense to open:
How do you deal with non-accepting family members? I don’t make it a thing, but I’ve been advised to take off my tie and change into more feminine clothing around them. I am okay with not discussing my personal life, but I don’t feel comfortable changing my dress. So I just don’t keep in contact with those relatives. A therapist told me that I am not secure in my gender identity if I am not willing to take off a tie and show compassion to a family member who would be upset by it? Am I selfish?
Just got an offer at ACN as a Strategy Manager and HR made it clear that parental leave was 2 weeks fully paid for men. Theoretically up until 12 weeks is covered by NY State ($900 weekly). What would you do? Have you seen men take a few months off for parental leave in consulting even if unpaid?
