Hello everyone!
I’m seeking advise from fishers. My brother in law is going to university next year. He was engineering (which is one of the worse decisions someone can do from my experience LOOL). I told him if anything he should do managment engineering which he got accepted to. He also got accepted to Mcmaster- information management systems. Which in my opinion you get a bit of everything! And this degree is picking up a lot of traction’s across tech. More thoughts in the comments

There’s literally no context here… Engineering was the worst decision for what?
What is he interested in?
What does he want to do?

like

Lmao, you all need to chill.... I’m not attacking engineering, you’re clearly not understanding what I’m asking...

For tech what’s a better degree? My god some people...

Maybe if you asked a coherent question you’d actually get a useful answer Ahmed

Also, I may be biased, but there is no degree that is more versatile and give you a high chance of building a respectable career than engineering in general

Agree, for business jobs, as long as it's not something specialized like accounting, an engineering degree is distinguishing relative to a run of the mill commerce degree, all else equal.

What's wrong with doing engineering? Anyway yeah McMaster's Engineering Management program is good, it's basically like a dual degree program with engineering+business education

Software engineering???

I currently work as an associate marketing manager for 2 years, I previously worked on the financial operations team. My manager was very patient and trained me in all our systems and my tasks. This was also during the pandemic so a lot of calls, sharing screens on teams. She was very hands on but I took as because I'm younger, new in the digital marketing world and she making sure I was set up for success. Fast forward to 1 year and half she became a helicopter manager.

In some fields, continuing education is a given/required, but most engineers I know have an attitude that they already know everything they can be taught.

When I started at this firm, I told my friends I couldn’t accept payment anymore and left it at that

With an undergrad in stats and business, and already working in the field I want to be in, however, not sure if it’ll be worth it to spend the time & money. Would love to hear your thoughts!
