Hello everyone! I’m seeking for some advice for a new project I’m working with. I do not have much of experience therefore I would love to hear what would you do in a similar case. Here is my question:
We have a new regulation that will affect the type of contract we have for 10 of employees. Who should I involve, contact? What steps would you take to move forward

Can you provide more information/context on the regulation and how it will potentially impact your contract employees?

Im still myself confused on the changes but as HR I was asked to go through the new regulations/legislation and prepare a timeframe and steps to do

In summary …the legislation in this country has change, but there is in particular one thing that is “a new requirement for all employees to be engaged through fixed-term contracts which can be up to a maximum of three years in duration”.
where the use of unlimited-term contracts is the norm.

We will need to take actions accordingly and also im guessing prepare/update handbook or policies so we act according to the law.

Hmm. Can't answer very directly without more specifics. But I would contact the employees and their direct supervisors first to go over the changes and the impacts.

I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director l, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

Hey all! I’m an HR person and I want some opinions here… it might dip too far into legal stuff, but still want personal opinions either way.

So my last job (I was laid off) I was the only HR person. It was very high turnover, like 50%. The structure of the company was two owners, me, and then everyone else was in sales roles (ie production).

Whenever they would want to let someone go they would “lay them off”, provide severance, etc. but we were constantly hiring new people. >post1
