Hello everyone, just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I have SME experience as an Oracle consultant in both EPM and ERP. I also have 2+ years of BDR experience . My most recent experience is as a BD team lead. Recently got laid off. I have been a top performer in all of the companies. Looking for referral for AE positions. Anyone looking to hire, please reach out.

Appreciate all of your help.

Welcome to SAP SuccessFactors Bowl!

Let's talk all about SAP SuccessFactors!

Recently I had an emergency that required me to leave work around 10am on a Thursday to take my 5 year old son to the ER. I let my manager know he was going to be admitted and I wouldn’t be at work the next day. Friday morning I get a text at 8:05 asking if I’m coming to work. Not, how’s the little one? You guys okay? I never miss work, ever, and this felt like a complete slap in the face. I’ve wanted to quit for a while, but this is the icing on the cake. Should I say something to my manager?

We converted a guy from investor relations/office manager role at our firm to being an analyst on the investment team. He has a masters in economics from a top university but no direct finance experience prior to this role. We’ve started training him and he’s learning fast. Really smart and hard working all around.
What would be an appropriate cash comp range for him?

Did anyone here apply for Canadian citizenship last year? Curious to hear how the progress on your application has been, specifically the time duration, i.e., when did you receive the AOR letter and how long after that did you receive the invite for the test and then oath ceremony? Any applicants still waiting? I understand that processing times are longer than usual due to Covid and might vary on a case to case basis, but just want to get a sense of the average processing time.

Hi All, any tips on sales presentation for bdr in saas sales? Im reaching my final round of interview. Much appreciated

What are some “typical” career paths for Account Executives other than working up towards the largest enterprise AE roles. After being in sales for 6 years, I’m relatively naive to any other than “leadership” and wonder what other options to consider are out there. I’d even be open so some not so typical ones that people have enjoyed/found success in. Thanks in advance!

Hi all - I am a Sr. IT Internal Audit Consultant at a medium-size firm and I'm exploring Sales Engineer roles as a potential exit opportunity. I'm wondering if anyone else in this bowl has an IT Audit background and would be able to offer me advice on how to make the career switch.

Thanks for any advice/guidance you can provide!

Should I transition to a tech sales job? Thoughts on risk vs reward? I am 34 yo, married with a baby incoming. I work at Google Cloud in solutions engineering (I help develop quantitative business cases with sales teams for customers). My cash base + bonus is $220k (going to ignore equity). I have an MBA from the University of Chicago, not that it matters much in sales. I have always been in a consulting role but I think I can make more in sales. I have a competitive personality and I am bored.

Don’t assume that more likes and comments directly lead to sales. I’ve had posts with 20 likes that generated me more leads than a post with 100 likes.

Sales is a funny thing.

Big pipeline doesn’t mean more revenue.

Accurate pipeline does

Can anyone give any insight on what a strategy role is like. I’m currently in sales have been toying around with the idea of going into strategy because it seems a bit more interesting to me but what does a day to day actually look like for someone in strategy ?

MSFT or AWS? As Tech Pre Sales and why?

Interviewed for a company today. The remuneration package $120k-$180k/year [Base + % of Commission = OTE] (50/50 spilt).

They’re asking for an expected salary, if my expected salary is $100k/year, comes out to $8.3k/month.

Based on the $180k and paymix of 50/50, that means $90k is the base salary which is lower than my expected - is this correct? If so, what should I do?

I’m in Sales, but brand new to tech sales. I had a resume person help me - gorgeous cover letter too that showcases my skills.

I keep getting rejected for lack of SaaS experience. What can I say or do to get my foot in the door? I am confident that I can crush it but not even getting past the gatekeeper at this point. It’s a blanket “ we need someone with experience” and I’m trying to not get discouraged.

I am trying to move from my farming role back to an outbound prospecting position. I have a couple screening calls for some pretty awesome companies and I would love some pointers on how to beat the objection that I have only been in my farming role since June. How would you sell the fact you want to go back to SDR, I am sick and tired of non revenue generating activity and miss having a list to attack.

Has anyone made the move from vendor side to an existing client? A client I closed is hiring and I think I’d be a great fit. However, I know I need to navigate with care. I love the product I sell currently, but my company was acquired recently and comp plans changed. Any advice on doing this in a tactful way?
