I got an offer from another company. Currently working in walmart. The main idea behind getting an offer is to ask for a salary rise. I was very much underpaid here. So I thought getting an offer will help increase my pay here in walmart by getting counter offer from them. But i am not sure if I discuss with my manager it will backfire me.Walmart
Anyone starting at Deloitte Jan 11?!

PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

Look into positions you think you would be interesed in and see what they require/would like and go from there. If you see a CFE is more desired, go that route. I think it was worth the money and time personally but it aligned with my job as well. Good luck!
CAMS is probably better for financial crimes compliance. CFE would be better for investigations or litigation/disputes work
If the CFE test is anything g like it was a few years ago, the prep questions on the prep disks were exactly the same as the exam questions. It’s nearly impossible to fail. Or was.
Following. Looking to get into Forensics
Definitely CAMS, I work in financial crimes and of my 20 person team only one person does not have their CAMS Certification. Of the 20 of us only 6 have the CFE.
A lot of positions I’m seeing in forensics at pwc are more aligned with computer science majors. What roles should I be searching for as an auditor looking to get into forensic accounting?
Anyone have a referral for Deloitte or PWC?
A lot of the forensics work at Big 4 is more or less just running scripts to analyze enormous sets of data, setting up checks and controls in transactional software, or pulling voluminous documents from company systems which is why you see that. The kind of forensics work that accountants are actually probably most qualified for is found at consulting firms who do investigations or disputes/litigation and at mid-tier accounting firms
Interesting perspective P1, I’d argue otherwise in my experience. There is a lot of data analytics but it’s built off forensic analysis and forensic accounting.
EY1 DM me
I’d 100% agree with that point. I was disagreeing with your characterization that Forensics at Big 4 is all looking at voluminous data and running scripts and forensic work for accountants is best seen at other firms.
