I'll be applying for a Service Desk manager position in the coming months. I'm looking to get a realistic salary range (online ranges vary drastically). I have 7 years experience in IT end user support. 4 years of these 7 years include having direct reporting employees in a supervisory role.

At a career crossroads. Post MBA, probably will make Manager in next year or two. Can go back to industry in a local office leadership role with a pay bump OR stay on path to Manager. Industry role could potentially turn into something bigger down the road (regional or potentially executive leadership). Or I stay in consulting and the work I’m doing is project management. Not the “consulting” I signed up for.

I have friends that have back office positions but never received an offer letter & their company still doesn’t use them now. Has anyone given notice & started a new position without an offer letter? Do international companies provide something else in lieu of a formal offer letter? I know offer letters aren’t legally binding anyhow, but seems they’d provide something. (International = Canada)

I see a lot of open roles - managers, senior strategists etc. I have a top 20 MBA and about 8 years of big 4 experience in consulting - would this be the right kind of role to get into? Or is it more engineering?

I work as a worker’s compensation adjuster and I cannot seem to get the hand of loss of time. Been in the same role for a year. Any piece of advise? I have made several improvements but it feels like I’m dragging it out. Last question is how do you manage claims that you have not handle for months and you’re too scared to do anything.

I have 5 years of experience. I have received offer letter for IN3 role (java developer) with 22LPA(fixed)+variable(4)+joining bonus(2)..Is this good package or are they lowballing me..?? Should i try for counter offer… will they increment in case of counter offer??

I make $100K with 12% bonus and was offered a role $130k with 15-20% bonus. 4YOE in provider industry.

I am in a comfortable spot with a good team but the work is dull, new role would be consulting with more work & travel

I have 7 YOE and applied for a position that is L4. I feel as if I’m overqualified for the position, but the Recruiter told me that when they say L4, they are actually looking for someone with 6+ years of experience. Is this true? I feel like I should be looking at L5 with my experience

Thoughts on CSIQ? It is sitting near all time highs but has not jumped like crazy from pre-pandemic. It’s at a 25% premium. It has solid fundamentals. It may be a solid option after it hits the 50 day SMA.

I use ClassDojo and a behavior clip chart to manage behavior. We have switched to personalized learning and a teacher next to me says that this is not conducive to personalized learning and good behavior is expected and shouldn’t be rewarded. I'm trying to attend several interviews. My current CTC is <10LPA, therefore even if I switch jobs and am offered a package that is 40%–50% higher than my current CTC, my new income won't be much higher than 12LPA–13LPA. However, I am on the lookout for even better ones. So, if there is a negotiation, can I mention to HR that I already have an offer of at least 12 lpa and persuade them to give me more? Will this ruse succeed? Or will they demand to show an offer letter?
