I am 31, 5 YoE in Tech consulting Deloitte, my TC is 150k. I was trying for promotion to manager but since the last few months I feel mentally exhausted like I've reached my cognitive limit. My manager gets annoyed at me cuz lately I'm forgetting too much. Everyday I feel like an imposter and that I need to quit consulting given my anxiety, depression and ADHD..I don't want to be miserable anymore - I want to switch careers. I also don't want a decrease in my income. What are my exit options?

I would recommend the first course of action is finding a local clinician that does diagnostics for ADHD. You will need a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist (usually easier to get in to see a psychologist first). A diagnosis and knowing what you’re dealing with is the first step. A lot of things can appear as ADHD just as ADHD can mask a lot of things. You could actually just have anxiety that distracts your attention from a task or you could have anxiety secondary to ADHD (i.e. your experiences with ADHD like criticism from others for symptoms, frustration with yourself, etc. have also led to clinical levels of anxiety). It is important to start to tease apart something that is now very engrained in your life now that your an adult and start to understand what’s going on to find the best treatment. Spend some time recording your symptoms and questions before you go. And don’t be afraid to get a second opinion; I read something just yesterday that said the average adult with undiagnosed ADHD receives something like 2.6 incorrect diagnoses before being correctly diagnosed with ADHD. This should remind us all that doctors do get things wrong and one doctor is not the final answer. Be your own advocate and keep seeking medical advice until you connect with someone who takes you seriously, listens to all your concerns, and helps you find a treatment plan that both helps and you feel good about.
Thank you for the detailed steps!!!, I will start to work on it! :)
