I am new to the bowl but I’m very happy to be here. I’m hoping someone could help me with a situation I am in.

I recently joined a start up as a social media marketer. I have been doing my own freelance work for 6 years in organic growth and that’s what got me my job. I have been having problems with organization/communication with the higher-ups. They want to make money FAST (as all businesses want) and hired an influencer to take over all socials. Anyone have thoughts about moving from underwriting to a distribution / marketing role? My personal worry is that marketing would be the first to go back if the company took a downturn.

The majority of my career has been in healthcare tech with some retail experience. Looking to break into event management/coordinating (I believe this is the correct job title) space in either the entertainment, fashion & retail or cosmetic industry. Any insights or advice is appreciated!

How different is litigating in-house vs. in private practice? I am prepared to take a step back and go back into SDR/BDR. My question is , what is a reasonable time frame until I am promoted to an AE? Assuming I will be a good performer and hit quotas.

CTR, contracts and department overhaul

our marketing dept is undergoing a complete overhaul. under old leadership, a $75k 12-mo contract was signed to a marketing group that handles our SEO, blog and everything Google Ads. All things I can and am in training to do. Current CTRs on G ads seem pitiful at no more than 0.75%. My meta ads coast around 4-6%. During this overhaul, would it be wise to not renew our contract, and negotiate for me to take over these roles and leverage a raise?

Job offer dilemma:
I am currently at a crossroads. I got two job offers: Digital Marketing Specialist at a global agency ($58k) and a Print Marketing Specialist at a grocery chain ($70k). I have always been more connected to my creative side and it has always been my goal to work at an agency; however the grocery chain offer pays way more (I live in DC) but it’s more of a data-driven position. Thoughts ?

I feel like I’m getting burnt out of marketing after ~6 years of being in the workforce. I’m considering a pivot into product management or uxui design, as I’ve always been a “generalist” in my marketing skill set and both of those functions represent about 25% of what I do on a day to day.
