Would you hesitate to hire someone due to typos on a business plan? My resume is spotless, & I come highly recommended by management and peers for the position. This week has been absolutely exhausting, and long story short, I noticed I misspelled “Houston” as “Huston” on the FIRST PAGE of my business plan.. TWICE!! 😩 I can’t believe I let that happen during such a critical interview. It was spelled correctly everywhere else, but it just looks sloppy. I am worried I am not going to get the job.

Does anyone have experience being a contractor for Deloitte? What was your salary negotiation experience? Do they pay fairly? (extra context: looking at their operations program manager contractor role)

Last Wednesday 8/3, I had my final interview with oracle. They are hiring 2 people for role and the hiring manager stated she had more interviews next week and was looking to make a decision by the end of the next week but didn’t specify I’d hear back at the end of next week. Is it rude/unethical to apply for a job with no real intention of taking the position if I get it? I don’t think they’ll be able to match my salary and I’d have to pay back my signing bonus but am curious what they’re offering. It’s a startup so there’s also equity involved which means I have no idea what TC would be.

Has anyone ever encountered the objection to being promoted based on number of years out of law school vs meritocracy ie only those that are X number of years out of school get to be Senior Counsel , AGC, DGC etc? If so, isn’t that an indirect form of age discrimination? Or is this acceptable behavior because law seniority is different and special from all other professions?

Just a thought: what if the FED raises the rate in March, market dips, so they say we are no longer raising rates? May be there are other means to control the inflation?

I got selected in KPMG and getting a good 70% hike but i think i lowballed myself when the HR once again asked yesterday if i'm okay with the package. I immediately said i'm okay as they already accepted my initial quote and pushing them for more would be a greedy move.

but the thought that i could have gone for a higher package if i wasnt overwhelmed by their "we care for you" gesture is making me anxious.

This is my 1st shot at Big 4, so i am already excited & nervous.

Earlier before pandemic the salary on an average was YOE x 2.5 means
5 yoe was 12.5 lacs appx and so on

Now it has just got increased by factor of 3 or 3.25 i.e. 8 year of work ex 8x3 = 24 -27 lacs

What do you think has led to this shift?

P.S : This is just a generalised observation. If you have different notion, it may be some availability bias.

Need advice, I am currently working in a compliance based role in of the big4s and I don't feel satisfied and happy with what I am doing. I have a past experience of core audit with another big4 which I have started missing a lot lately. My current notice period is 3months. Is it a good decision to quit now and start looking for another job during my notice period?
I feel a little lost right now and not sure if what I am doing as I feel their is no overall growth here
