Apart from experience of managing a team, what are the mandatory skill set of an engineering manager role? Especially the interview process in telecom/networking product companies. Please enlighten.

I’m starting to search for a new position and I see a lot of really granular roles: PM Notifications, PM, Site Navigation, etc. At my current company, I’m involved with almost the entire product and I directly own 2 current features top to bottom with multiple others in the research and design phases. I can’t imagine these being full-time positions. Can anyone with a role like this comment on what your day-to-day is like?

I am a digital marketer(Owner of a small comp). However I am planning on applying to some jobs since i feel i have done everything I can do and would like to work and learn from others. Do you think it will impact me negatively since i have a 2 Year gap in my resume? Will those 2 years of being self employed be a good or a bad thing to have? I am earning around 75k a year and would only apply to a job that can offer me something better than that. My Edu background: Bsc in Math/Data sci. Thanks
