Hello fellow UX-ers. I recently interviewed for a role and one of the interviewers on the panel asked me if I've done any projects other than for my current company. I work for a large consultancy and 1. I don't have time for freelance or pet projects 2. Even if I did them, I could seriously be in trouble with my current company. Has anyone experienced this kind of question before? What was your answer?

Looking for advice! I’ve been in the banking for approximately 10 years in risk/Compliance. I left my role several months ago and I’m having trouble landing a job in the banking sector. Hiring managers say the interviews went great but then crickets. I am feeling that this is no longer for me. Would a career coach help me pivot to another career. I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. Really need some input. We have our new construction done by April 2023. Builder is giving us 28,000 credits which can be used towards closing cost and buy lock rate for 6 months from now and giving us the interest rate for 6.75% for 30 years from US bank. But I also spoke to credit union they give us 5 ARM for 5.5% but can lock rate in feb 2023. So should go with the US bank with 6.75% plus incentives or wait till feb 2023 and thn lock rates(us bank doesn’t give us ARM rates).
