I'm about to start working in an FP&A role, but I really want to improve my excel skills within this year as the only functions I use are vlookup, pivots and index/matches.

I've tried learning off MOOCs but they are really dry. I really want to dedicate around 4 hours per week to this learning but want to make it effective.

How did you do it?

Printing out shortcuts? Excel without a mouse? Or any recommended MOOC/books?

I think the utilization metric is so flawed, yet it seems to be the number 1metric people rely to judge fdd staff. It heavily penalizes efficiency (if it takes everyone 5 hours to complete something what motivation do I have to be faster only to need to fill any saved hours with more work). Can you share any ideas on how to improve fdd metrics or perhaps share what your company does that makes performance great again.
