I have sent the email to HR yesterday asking for the status but no reply yet.

Just verbally accepted an offer to become the newest partner at a much bigger firm in town after 5+ years slaving for a smaller firm that told me they would only “let” me be of counsel (and pay rent equal to my current salary) or stay an associate.
