LWD and joining date cannot be same date.. joining date has to be next day and LTI can release offer on last date and many organizations are following this and this will be the trend as people getting multiple offers and not joining. Also they do not care baiyt people's impressions on them, hut they care about people joining. Any organization wants people to join not just for money but also because the person thinks it's the organization of choice and join for culture, people etc. That's what they hope for anyway.

Sure am not defending LTI. Even I gave up a very good offer from LTI to join a product firm.

Same to HCL. Even after multiple followups they didn't release the OL. It takes some time for you 😅 but eventually you make up your mind and ignore them. Just focus on joining the organisation for which you already hold the offer.

You can skip LTI, they do not care for their employees, its all a FALSE mask they wear.
During 2nd wave, my family got caught corona infection at the time when there was oxygen and bed shortage, first my father got infected than my mother than me and sister.
Unfortunately I lost my father, at that time I had ask for leaves from LTI, they gave 2 weeks leave once, I applied for more leaves they rejected saying there ia no such policy. They refuse to help, managers hid somewhere, I anyway had to take off unpaid(after my leaves exhausted) as there was no other option and also resigned.
I never expected them to refuse leave for a genuine reason. Third class organisation, I will never recommand it.
I remember manager said we are ready to give you hike but you are not allowed to take leave. I shared hospital related bills, and dr prescription etc. That was pathetic experience, bullshit organisation.

Don't join. It's their strategy to make sure you don't use their offer to shop.
You will get many better organizations.
It will work only if a person isn't capable of cracking the interviews of any better organization. Otherwise you can shop with any other offer. 90% organizations won't do this.
They do this thing only.
Take the interview, ask for documents and then never reply back
They will then contact you 1-2 days prior to ur lwd. Can't trust them.

Tell them to release offer letter now or you will not be considering their offer and will look after others who are willing to offer politely. Don’t follow up with them afterwards.
They will do the same irrespective of what you think.
I have also faced this situation.
In case you have other offers & companies are as good as LTI then go for that.

What's wrong with LTI approach? If you are not agree to get offer letter on LWD then Just ignore it. Now a days many people getting counter offers from multiple companies and later denied to join , it results in wastage of recruiter time as well as clients deliverables.

I've first hand experienced the games played by LTI. I've cleared all the technicals and managerials 5 rounds in total, then they come up and say offer letter will be released on LWD.
If that's the case they can also schedule the interviews during last week of notice, why waste time of candidate taking interviews 2 months in advance.
They want the candidate with no commitment from their end...
Worst expectation, sad thing is most of orgs are going in this direction. Let's see how it goes.
In my personal opinion, organizations need employees more than employees need organization.
