You'll get tax deduction. But in the long term I do not think it copes up with the inflation rate. Returns are not that great. Mutual funds and sips provide way better returns.

Some SIPs does have tax benefits. Like having an sip in an elss fund does ensure tax saving in 80c upto 1.5lakhs.

I’ve worked at the same big 3 boutique since I was a clerk. I’m a NEP now. I work in a mid to small market town. One of the partners in one of our larger offices wants me to move to their market. I have a great relationship with this partner and they are telling me they are planning to retire in 5 years. They have a sizable book of business. I have two small kids, my wife is an attorney who practices in state court. I’ll never be more than a well-regarded service partner if I stay. Would you go?

Hey everyone! Healthcare attorney here in NY big law. Where are others from?

Moving out of the US for 5-6 years, does it make sense to keep the 401k as is or withdraw it and pay the fine and penalty as it could still be used as a 25-30% down payment for a house ? The balance is under 70k right now. I will be moving back after 5-6 years.

Deloitte fishes - how does it look switching across sectors as a new experienced hire? You should be able to opt out of social security taxes and as an alternative be required to contribute the same amount of money to your 401k.
