I worked in the UK and middle east in a previous life and career. My take is this: If you want to learn and develop your skills, stay in the UK. If you are older, have an established skillset go there to get a lot of money. I think Ireland is more relaxed compared to London. Easier path to the top as well? Have a couple of friends in KPMG there.

Thank you, this makes sense

Guessing Middle East would offer most money

That's true, with the tax free angle. However would like to consider the offers holistically (career prospects, learning, brand, etc.).

Edit: Deloitte is asking to be based out of Saudi. Most of the current projects are based there at present I believe. If I'm serious about joining and manage to negotiate a Dubai base location, IMO it'll look shoddy on my part to negotiate a location and then back out.

I recently went through an interview process for an investment banking role at a well respected mid market bank. I had two rounds of interviews, and the second round was with two VPs. All interviews went very well - conversation was great, and I got enthusiastic verbal feedback during and at the conclusion of each interview. It’s been three weeks and I have heard nothing, even after 2 follow ups to HR. I saw on LinkedIn they hired 2 people. I assume I got rejected - thoughts? What do I do next?

Do McK / Bain do lateral manager hires? If so, is there an active pipeline or more based on specific group / office need? And what’s the most effective way to apply (ie how critical is a referral)?

How is the risk practice at MBB? Do you work on the same work as big 4 risk? Where do most people come from.. ie ex big 4, internally trained, ex bankers etc. What would help a candidate from a big 4 risk transition to a position in risk at mbb? I'm going to be entering a big 4 in risk, but would like to switch to mbb at some point in my life.
