I am a deputy manager with 8 years of experience in retail banking operations CTC is 5.64L, now HSBC global services is offering 70% hike, however, the grade will be assistant manager. Switching from commission to salary!

I’m considering a less sales-oriented role that doesn’t pay commission. The new role will have a higher base but lower overall earning potential.

What % haircut should be expected? As an example, if I make 100k (base + commission) today, would it be realistic to ask for 90k (10% cut) + equity to make up the difference?

I am not much confident about my experience in this domain as startups want more at this much exp and learning is slow in current workrole. So I am thinking to take BITS Pilani Work integrated learning program in Data Science and be here in HSBC for 2 more yrs with limited growth. Will it be right to study or to change?
