I am coming up on 5 years experience in 5 months and I make 105k. When I look for exit opportunities out of consulting I am having trouble finding opportunities that would match or increase my CONT...
Recently laid off, and struggling to land interviews. Anyone have tips or tricks on how to get an independent consultant role?
What’s a typical salary for a creative director in Miami (10+ years in advertising, but new to CD role)?
Am I underpaid? Analytics Sr. Consultant (semi-technical role) w/ 8 YOE, age 31 - Austin, Tx. With Finance BA and Econ MA from mediocre University. Salary-$90k, no bonus/stock/etc.
As someone who enjoyed being in a trading role prior to consulting, would you move back? Not sure what the comp would be for a muni bond trader, or if the position is becoming outdated, but trading always excited me.
You started at a new role/company 2 months ago that is +50% your previous TC, a level promotion, and you’re happy with the team and scope. However you’re also currently in a long distance relationship with a SO you love and have been with for 4 years. The relationship is starting to crack and moving abroad to be with her seems like the best decision to kee the relationship. How would you play this out sirs/maams? Ask manager to work abroad and quit if they reject it? Thx for the feedback 😔
Has anyone ever considered doing Equity Research? If my interests are healthcare and life sciences, would ER with a focus on this industry lead to better exit opportunities than consulting in this space?
Hi McKinsey 🐟 Compared to the Associate role, is the Associate Implementation more role change management implementation or tech / tools coding focused, or neither? Is there a difference in comp?
A friend is looking to hire for the below internal M&A role in Brooklyn. Feel free to apply / dm if interested https://proudmomentsaba.hiringthing.com/job/202367/integration-manager
What are your thoughts on the chief of staff role at a startup? I want to get into tech startups but don’t have an “idea” yet and am not a “builder/engineer”. I read the JDs for this type of role and it sounds like a great role for a former management consultant/strategic advisor and a good way to get into startups and set yourself up to run your own startup some day…is my understanding correct or should I approach getting into startups a different way?
Is McKinsey still hiring? I saw a lot of open positions a couple days back and applied right away? What's the recruiting process like? TIA
Ugh I’m overwhelmed by the referral process - if I’m applying to 10 jobs a day, how do I keep track and get that many referrals? What if I apply to multiple jobs at the same company - does someone have to refer me for all 3 positions or does it stay with my resume for each one?
I’m a Junior accountant, recent MBA grad in Finance, located in NYC, just got laid off due to a merger. Anybody hiring or know any opening positions?
Seems like jobs openings are harder to come by right now. Think there will be a hiring boom early 2021?
Hey, I have applied to a job at EY for Risk assurance. My academics are pretty good and I'm pursuing ACCA with BCom, with a year of internship experience as well. I have tried to apply but I think a referral would really help. Please dm me for referrals. Would be happy to speak on linkedin as well and send my job ID as well.
The opportunity: A CD opening at an amazing agency in Europe (I’m American). The dilemma: I’m 8 weeks pregnant. The visa process is time consuming and expensive and I will likely go on maternity leave shortly after arriving. Do I tell them? Or just see how it goes and then spring it on them? File under: Things men never have to think about.
Any mid-level copywriters looking for work? We had another writer leave and are looking to fill the position. It's a small shop with incredible creative leadership and fun food accounts. Trust me, you’ll get a lot of opportunities and have a blast. PM a link to your book and I'll tell you more.
Random thought... My gay male context plus the pandemic has amplified the "this isn't worth it" view of my unbalanced work life balance. I am never going to have kids and don't need to keep grinding for the next promotion etc. like my head of household peers with children. Do you feel the non-traditional household / income demands that LGBTQIA+ we live with are making you more easily say "enough is enough" with work as the valuation of our time has increased during the pandemic? 🤔
Question regarding traditional vs Roth 401k decision. I joined a new firm and they allow for Roth 401k and Mega back door Roth contribution. I’m 26 years old with a salary of 135k + bonus and have a traditional IRA (previous 401k) and a Roth IRA that are similar worth (50k each) I’m trying to decide how I should go about my new 401k with my new firm. Should I go with traditional 401k for the tax relief and after-tax back door to my Roth IRA? Thoughts, suggestions please. TIA
Hey Folks - Any one use their FSA $ towards a dietitian or nutritionist? If so, could you share your experiences? I'm considering Working Against Gravity but I don't think we can use our FSA. It also appears 'nutritionist' is unregulated and a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is needed for the expense of a nutritionist's services.
Booked a non-US SPG hotel on points, arrived at midnight and was told our third person would be an extra $40 per night because of "hotel policy" even though the reservation was for 3. WWYD?
Have an upcoming interview with BCG. Last 3 years I have exclusively worked on Life Sciences clients. Any tips for getting up to speed on the other industries?
In Australia. Boarded a domestic flight from Melbourne to Sydney on JetStar. They board their planes with two entrance points. Rows 1-16 enter through the front, rows 17-32 through the back of plane.
client has been having serious issues getting into shared docs (gsuite) million pdfs/excel sheets later, finally says: maybe it’s my browser? do you use internet explorer? should i switch to chrome?
Anyone have any insight into Greenberg Traurig’s compensation and bonus structure? They seem to be one of the few AmLaw 50 firms with little insight into minimum hour requirements and bonus structure.
What can I, as a newly promoted manager do to overdeliver on your expectations (assuming project delivery is great, deadlines are met, client and team are happy, project budget is on track)? What can a manager do to make your life easier and help you sell more work?
Best way to start day rate freelancing as a copywriter? I’m based in LA/Orange County and looking to move from in-agency to freelance work. Any tips?
Any advice on how and when to mention that I’m expecting during an interview process (1st, 2nd or 3rd round)? I’m currently 20weeks pregnant and having an interview next week. I don’t know if the company I’m interviewing for will have maternity benefits. What’s a good way to ask about this? If you went through similar situations, could you please share your experience? TIA!
Any Canadians or Mexicans here applied for a TN visa in the last year? Interviewing for a role in the US and want to make sure it’s even feasible for me to make the move.
Curious as to how other small firm owners are handling transition to have employees work from home? I employ several older paralegals who cannot seem to get themselves set up. Prefer not to lay off.
As a new grad who has been at a company for just a couple months, how free should I be about using my benefits - taking time off etc?
