Need to vent. Several times this year I have needed to cancel events for legitimate issues (surgery, I’m in trial, cases just being transferred to our office, short notice/urgent doctor’s appointments, family health scares, and pregnancy complications). Every time I have a male attorney on the other side it ends up in a f*cking battle over scheduling. I don’t understand it. I’ve been practicing for 6 yrs & it’s gotten exponentially worse over time. When did lawyers stop being people???

Value of health insurance when evaluating compensation?

When considering other offers, how do you determine what health insurance is worth? For example, my current insurance is a low deductible family plan that includes vision and dental, with an FSA option. It is the first plan we have been on that I didn't have to pay for anything out of pocket and struggled to use my FSA. I know other companies could not match that coverage. Do I increase my desired base salary to compensate?

My worry is that if there is a need to claim in future, it can be done all online by my nominee? Is it recommended to take policy online in any platform(like policybazaar)?

The insurance company I work for outsourced a huge majority of my work to a third party, ontellus 🤮. I am not longer able to bill for NPNP, SDT and CNOS. I received 5 separate NPNPs from ontellus that either had the incorrect case style, signature block or date. I also sent out an email today after the 5th incorrect NPNP that started with “I am honestly starting to feel like I am on the show Punk’d and waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop into my office” continued in comments..

Normally pay my credit card off in full each month but find myself with a 10k balance (mix of medical, a/c repair, other unexpected events).
