Had my induction today at my new company (asset manager). Really liked HR girl who led the meeting, chatted a bit after, loved her smile.

How can I take it to the next step? Was thinking of coffee/grabbing lunch in our canteen, but sounds like a risky move (especially given she's HR..).

So...I just received an email sent to me, the HR Manager, and two other members of our management team from a new member of the nursing team asking about the policy on the nursing staff dating the doctors...I have so many follow-up questions that I don't know where to start

Is there a corporate way to bring up to senior leaders that an IC is causing issues across multiple teams because they are demanding and also doesn’t collaborate well? The IC gives vague “direction” then says they are too busy to clarify. They also refuse to use our project management/ collaboration tools.

How have you all delt with people who are workaholics and try to force their choices on you? She chooses to take on and work the way she does. She typically stays 30-40% in utilization above firm goal

Just joined a new firm 2 weeks ago. Today one of the directors told me "omg you're so quiet. Didn't even know you're here". Ugh how do you socialize more in a work place? My cubicle is at the end :(

Partners/shareholders - how many hours are you expected to bill on work vs client dev and firm/associate management? I can sacrifice an entire weekend cleaning my house so that wife's friend can spend the week. When I ask for a couple hours to help get the house clean so a house cleaner can effectively clean I'm told that's my prerogative and get no help. Well fuck me for being tired of living in a messy house.
