Hello,
I am a woman with a degree in health services administration (which the entire degree was accounting/math/etc.) with some healthcare laws slapped in it. Decided I hated healthcare and went in to wealth management and now I am originating loans at a bank. The goal here is to eventually to become a financial analyst but am not sure how to make that jump and what would help. Any advice welcome!

This was my thought too. Specialization is great

See what kind of free/cheap certs and classes are out there. Take them to gain some knowledge and show that you have the drive and ambition they want to see in candidates. I would also emphasize/mention the accounting/finance courses you took on your resume

Shouldn’t be too hard with a little bit of study time. Take a couple of courses.
Financial Analyst work is not very technical at all, more number crunching and soft analysis skills IMO

I second this!

Hi fishes,

I think I am slipping into depression. My life seems to have no meaning and all I do is work. I don't get time for myself or my family, friends and loved ones. But I can't leave my job and take a break as I need the financial support.

I also feel I am earning way less than my peers which makes me feel like a loser. 4.5 years of work-ex and 16LPA.

What should I do? I need good wlb but also need money badly.

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?
