I’m currently one of the largest media agencies and we don’t have a comms practice. I’ve applied for connections strategy roles at other agencies but haven’t heard anything back. Looking at my skill set and the job description they seem very aligned. Is it a super competitive field? Where is the most opportunity - creative, media or PR agencies? I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's ALM in Management. They both have the same requirements (generally speaking) including a capstone course that serves as a field immersion course with the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?

Thinking about taking my experience in tech (Recruitment, HR, Ops, Marketing) and starting a side business coaching folks in career and WLB. Would like to do this through less traditional means like breathwork, sound meditation etc mixed with the more traditional approaches of goal setting, self inquiry and reflection. I interviewed for an in house position with an in house recruiter. It went well and I was told my resume was escalated. I was also sent a copy of the company's benefits package. It has been 6 weeks and I haven't heard anything. I emailed the recruiter in follow up and heard nothing back. Likely I am out?

I'm an experienced attorney (16 years), worked in government, small/medium firms, been a solo. I'm also looking to get out of family/immigration law and go into labor/insurance defense/litigation. According to BCG I'm a terrible candidate for lateral positions and was told that recruiters would never work with me. However, I still get emails/text messages that they want to work with me. WTH?!?!

Can anyone explain the value of a recruiter if you are consistently locating and sending them relevant job postings? They are always lovely to speak with but I’m wondering if it is better to just apply directly via a firm’s website? I understand that firms have to pay recruiters a not insignificant sum for placements and want to remain competitive when applying. Thoughts?
