To the extent this is allowed, could some EY NY folks DM me photos of the new EY office space in NY? Recently got an offer and plan on talking to more folks soon, so I definitely hope to hear their perspective, even though many have gone in a few times. Can someone explain a career in consulting?
Now is the best time to start applying, and a cover letter explaining your situation.
If you don’t have a lot of experience for your resume, list your college classes that are relevant to the position. Also make sure to list any skills that may be desired, like certain programming languages, any software tools used during software development like IDEs or software code management. During your interview, make sure you discuss any projects you’ve worked on for you classes that explain your software engineering experience
Start applying ASAP, employers expect that when hiring undergrad students that they won’t start until summer/fall. Sounds like you have employment history if you work full time along with taking classes which is much more difficult than most students experience throughout college. Employers are more concerned about you not utilizing your time than specific internship experience. I don’t recommend cover letters, I’ve heard from a couple recruiters that they don’t read them. Make sure to highlight during interviews relevant classes and specific projects that demonstrate the skills needed for the job. Having a 3.9 GPA will demonstrate your competency and that you are a hard worker. Best of luck!
