Had an interview with Hexaware and 3 days back HR1 called me and said she will send the offer letter next week. 2 days back HR2 called me and said a client interview is scheduled for you and I attended that. Now if I fail to clear the client interview round, will I not receive the offer letter that is promised by the HR1?

They hired someone internal for the role and are now looking for open spots on various teams I could join. They're offering a lot more than other companies to folks who are switching for the first time or are relatively new to the field.

Is it worth it to take up a support role in Salesforce since it pays well, or does this have long term implications on the career since you'd want to move to development eventually?

I am in a product team where the engineering lead was a good developer who was promoted into role when the previous lead left. They are a good IC, but have trouble staying out of the weeds and I don't feel like the engineers have enough thought leadership. Received a job offer via video call. The hiring manager was thoroughly providing pertinent information and everything was going well. Then as she said, “…with a starting salary of…” the connection cut out. 🤣 Came back on as she was explaining the time period for bonuses.

Hi Everyone, Started my career in government 5 years ago working in an operational role, then focussed on HR for 3 years working my way up to a middle manager role in HR as a business partner and completed my Level 7 CIPD. I don’t think HR or government is for me anymore and looking to find something new, now 24 feel I have a lot of transferable skills and knowledge but worried about private companies in other professions taking me seriously. What’s the going rate for an account supervisor in Chicago? Feel like I may be underpaid.

The week of my wedding, my husband (PL SQL Developer 4 yoe) was laid off. That was a couple of weeks ago. Luckily I'm still bringing money in as a software engineer, but I'm looking for advice on how to support a partner who has been laid off. Ultimately I think we will be ok, but I know he's hurting / stressed / and could use a supportive partner.

Just curious if all the cardiac sonographers starting out in the profession, what was your starting wage? After working so many year how much did your income increase? How much was your pay for being on call?

Currently I am one year out of school starting at around $26/HR with my on call pay being $2.75 an hour (we doing it weekly at my hospital) and we average around 100 hour of on call so it’s close to $300 per on call week.

I was checking and comparing healthcare costs for the two companies my spouse and I work for. For me with HSA it is around $900 per month for just Medical, Vision and Dental. For my wife (with HSA) it is $300 per month. Both have $3000 deductible. My out of pocket max is $14000 while my wife’s is $7000. All of these numbers are for a family of 4. Why do we have such a huge difference in healthcare costs for similar coverage? My wife’s company is 30K employees and my company is 300K employees.

Had a final round interview on Thursday (so two business days ago) with a tech start up. Pretty optimistic it will turn into an offer. HR recruiter emailed me Friday morning saying they felt final round interview went really well from their end. Thank you notes already out the door. How long would you wait to reach back out? Or should I play a waiting game so as not to appear desperate?

I’m currently a systems engineer (4-5 YOE in SE, 2 YOE in customer service before that) with BS in STEM, MS in Technical Mgmt. At what point does “ego” stop mattering? Over the past 5 years I’ve worked my way to being an Account Manager, but ultimately my career goal is to work for the government. There’s an opportunity to be an admin assistant working for the government, and would be a nice way for me to get in and move up. But the title change from Account Manager to Assistant is a big deterrent. Logically I know that it doesn’t matter, but emotionally it’s hard to feel like I am taking a major career step back?

Well there’s been a lot of rejection in 2020, but I finally accepted a role at a new employer today. It may not be my “dream” but I believe my possibilities are endless and they are aware of my long-term career goals. Finally some good news after all the negatives the previous year has brought me.
