Hello,

I am very interested in career pivoting into Customer Success. I have the transferable skills and recently completed a Customer Success Course to leverage my foot in the door. Are there any roles or titles to recommend for someone that is looking to get their way in to Customer Success or any companies that are known to accept entry or associate level experience candidates? Thank You

Specifically what transferable experience do you have? Are you working in member experience at a SaaS company? Have you managed accounts before? Asking because a lot of people say they have transferable experience and then it’s like, support stuff and soft skills. Those are helpful in CS but will not move the needle much in this market.

If you are already at a SaaS company: transfer internally or target customer success associate, account associate roles (not manager, unless you have a lot more experience than member experience)

If you are not at a SaaS company: look for support jobs at SaaS companies

Source: I just hired a CSM as well as a couple entry level roles and the market is too competitive to go straight to CS without relevant expedience. Everyone we hired ended up being downleveled (ex: CSM with 1-2 years of experience took an associate job, associate took a support job, experienced CSM with 3+ went down a level). We didn’t even get to talk to less traditional candidates because the applicant pool was so experienced.

Some of the transferable skills I have come from my banking experience establishing and maintaining relationships both with personal and business clients, I was very confident in the products and services that the financial institution I worked for offered and was viewed as a trusted advisor in the financial space of my role. I provided thorough explanations to customers when explaining services and their benefits in addition to providing thorough explanations with customers who had escalated concerns as well. I maintained my book of business on new and existing customers as well as meeting my quarterly goals. My current position is in the Real Estate Lending space and I do not have Saas exposure in this role however I do believe with my Sales, Service, Relationship Management, listening and communication skills, and being able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines would qualify me to an extent to pivot into the Customer Success space.

Hi guys,
Do strategy consulting verticals at T2 consulting also do PMO? I recently am seeing a shift, have appeared for interviews at 2 T2 orgs and both the interviewers told that they have shifted the focus on implementation and PMO since it ropes in more revenue.
Currently I have done both Strategy and PMO projects, find PMO to be extremely boring and repetitive.
Apart from the usual MBB, Kearney and OW since I have a tier 2 MBA, what other firms exist in India that do strategy consulting?

Why is it so difficult to make the next career move within your OWN company. I have over 7 years of experience across multiple departments and yet an external company is more willing to give an interview to select roles than your own home company for the same role internally!!
