I've been receiving a couple of calls from different recruiters regarding job opportunities. But, after they get a confirmation of my interest in that role, they don't update me with the application process.
What should I do? They don't even respond to my follow-up emails.
BTC just dipped though.
How are senior partners elected at BCG? Very familiar with Mckinsey as I’m an alum. Not that it matters to me personally, just curious because of the higher office centric vs global “one firm” structure

We need a lot of help with babies and kids, especially when both parents are working. I know this because i have a 4 year old. But i am still healing from the struggles of trying my best to raise the kid and keeping everything afloat.

Is it true that it’s exceedingly difficulty to transition from insurance defense work (7+ years) to either commercial litigation or an in-house position? I’m worried about staying on this path for too long, becoming pigeon holed and not being able to get out of it.
Offered a promotion where I countered for a higher rate and remote work. The firm reported that my counter offer was going to take weeks to discuss, but I wasn’t “asking for an arm”. Two weeks later they approved the initial offer without consent and against my written request to hold off until negotiations concluded. Now, I’m told that my actions have fractured the relationship
I am being criticized for my self respect to ask for my worth

Any women in IBD who have gotten pregnant as a senior associate/early VP? Tips on who and when to share with different folks (HR, deal teams, ppl in group in general)?
I returned to my job after leaving, and was told that I wouldn't get a 6 month raise since I was a returning employee. I was passed up for a promotion/ payraise for by someone who has been here less than half the time. I am a top performer and have incredible numbers to back that up. How do I go about asking for a raise?
How do you get the most out of your Series 7? From feeling like you are actively using it and making a nice income. I would hate to feel like I need a career move just because the Pay isn’t where I need it to be or maybe it’s because I am in Ohio?

Any opinions on mentoring?
Looking for objective opinions. I was in a training session today with all men and one other woman. Truth be told, I was by far best there (based on effort, not necessarily natural ability). I suddenly felt like a goody twos shoes and unliked for coming prepared. The woman was indifferent with me which happens a lot with women in the industry. Sometimes I think it’s because I’m well put together and carry myself with confidence (I’m no Kate Moss but I did used to be a fashion buyer). Cont. below
Hey all, what’s your opinion on providing 2 Week notice? Do you think it’s still standard or depends on the situation.
I recently received my start date for a new job, and am happy to be leaving my current situation- it is a very hostile environment. I’m debating whether to give a week or two week notice.
Hi fishies! I work for an early-stage Fintech startup called Fennel; (www.fennel.com) focused on impact investing as well as shareholder activism and giving every day investors the tools they need to make informed and aligned decisions. I'm wondering what others in the industry think of this space and about ESG, given that there has been a lot of relevant media attention recently & would love to know if people make investment decisions based on factors like workforce equity, ceo pay, etc?
Did anyone see the post in the Work-Life bowl posted by the analyst? Saying that he(26M) was scared to be judged at corporate events for his gfs(19F!!!) hair color & tattoos? If you didn’t, please check out the comments. And then remember that these are men in the financial industry, that could very well be your coworkers. The grooming. The objectification. I am disgusted, but not surprised.
Has being more assertive ever backfired on you? I'm naturally more reserved and am trying to work on this without coming across as a bitch. Any tips?

Received job offer and negotiated salary. They came back not budging on base salary but offering a bonus of 15% rather than the original 10%. I appreciate that but was really hoping for an increase in base. Would you just accept or negotiate again? I don’t want to lose this opportunity.

Is it just me or have you lost touch with most of your friends from high school/college? I’m 29 yo & coming from someone with a lot of friends, I can say that I now only have 2 friends that I can really trust and have kept in touch with over the years, in addition to my significant other. After the pandemic & switch to the WFH/hybrid environment, I’m feeling more isolated than ever. Any tips or recommendations on how to network and meet more people? I’m based in LA!
“One day…” more LinkedIn drivel from a boomer guy. You know when I started getting paid more for what I do? When I left the industry this asshole works in and started setting boundaries for myself. Saying no to stupid shit allowed me to say yes to the important shit.

Your best bet is to network to find a way into the industry first. You can gain the knowledge along the way.
I was the same way as you! I just started out at an entry level call center job that paid for my licensing to get my foot in the door and then listened to a bunch of finance podcasts
