Hello,
I graduated in June with a dual BSBA in healthcare management and human resources management/organizational management and two associates degrees in business and arts. I have twelve years of experience as a certified clinical medical assistant.

I'm having trouble finding my first job as a healthcare manager. After submitting many applications and receiving so many rejection emails, I've become frustrated. Any advice anyone can give is greatly appreciated.

First, make sure your resume is speaking to all of your transferable skills. Second, make sure your resume lists out skills that the employer is looking for. Are you looking to go into HR or something else? Sometimes they have specific requirements such as SHRM certification. Networking is also key.

I've been looking into practice management, training and development, healthcare quality, transformation, healthcare recruiting. I've applied for a lot. Probably close to 500 applications. I've tried networking through Linkedin. The majority of people don't respond, unfortunately.

Practice Management is a fine choice for you. I too started as an MA. Focus on one area in health care management. Look within your current organization to start then focus on gaining skills in your current role that may lead you where you want to go.

Hey! I work at a healthcare start up and I earn $95k an year as a Software Engineer II based out on Austin, TX. Recently I interviewed with Visa, Austin and got an offer for the Senior Software Engineer role with base - $125k and a sign on bonus - $10k which totals to $135k overall comp. When I tried negotiating the base salary they said that the comp team isn’t budging on it due to team metrics and my experience (2.5 years as SDE). Is this a good offer to take?

Here’s the solution to guns that would make everyone happy.

1. If you buy a gun, every year you need to re-license it.
2. To re-license the gun you need to bring it in, it can’t have any tampering; and you need to do a medical and psychological eval
3. Guns should all be tagged with a microchip that flags when it leaves the state it was in

Failure to do any of the above will get you a fine, multiple unresolved fines and you get some jail time

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? For example, fees to keep bar licensure, professional association fees, CLEs, etc. I feel like there is so much on that end I currently take for granted being covered at my firm. Anything else I should consider?

Please suggest based on your experience.

Thanks in advance!
