Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

From my understanding of the speciality certifications you have to either be SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential or sitting for the general certification and speciality at the same time. I sit for the SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m thinking of applying for the TA or HR dept of one speciality and wondering the same thing. Is it beneficial?

I’m not sure that’s the case. According to SHRM’s website, you don’t need the SHRM-CP/SCP certification in order to obtain the specialty credential.

But, I'm not getting shortlists as most of the PM/APM roles requires prior PM experience. Can anyone please let me know what to do in such a situation.

I was asked to put together a working plan to obtain my CFF credential. I’m aware of the 2 certificate program (Core and Specialized) through the AICPA that will lead to the CFF. Does anyone have experience in how long it would take to complete the certificates and if there are other necessary or helpful study materials that would be useful? Hi all! What are the differences between senior/staff SWE and software architects? Are architects still a thing? I'm causally searching for a new position and I've noticed staff and even some senior SWE roles sound like they have more leadership and architectural design responsibilities and focus on coding much less. Is this normal? I would definitely like to continue mentoring, but I also don't want to spend my entire day in meetings. 😕

What are the standard fees for outsourcing consultancy work?
I've been working with a newly established consultancy business. Until now I've been paid day rates or project rates.
I've been invited to lead, build and manage the HR consultancy.
What are reasonable fee structures?
1. If they source work and give it to me to complete, what is a fair percentage?
2. If I source work and complete it, what should I 'pay' them given that it's under their 'brand'?

I recently lost my job and my former employer notified me over a call, and the reason was that they’re just too busy to train me. I know that’s not true because they hired 2 new people the following week.

What would be the appropriate steps to take in this situation? Thank you for any advice!

First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?
