Hello, I joined in September 2021 as consultant. Was on bench till mid October. Now my utilization is only 58%. I am a little confused with these numbers. Do I need to check with someone on this or is this ok for a recent hire?

Hey fish, life science PhD with post doc exp here. I've been an Associate consultant for almost a year now. Contemplating leaving for a business dev manager/innovation manager for a biotech institute near me. Consulting has been both cool and overwhelming at times. I really miss science but don't want to be on the bench. Has anyone jumped back to the science heavy side after consulting?

Hello fishes, I am working at IBM as a Data Scientist and currently on bench. I will be resigning today as I have a better offer in hand right now. Wanted to know if I have to serve entire notice period of 90 days even when on bench or IBM gives early release ?

I am on the bench. If I give my 2 weeks notice will I get paid even tho I am not on anything and don’t have to wrap up any work?

I’ve built a strong pipeline of work with my current client, establish great rapport, and likely will continue to see more work being sold. But, I’m just over my current project and been on it far too long (running on 1.5 years). I think it’s time for another M to take over the team and I join a new project. I’m at the point where I’ve done all I can do. I feel as though I’m part of the client now, and that’s not why joined consulting. Would it look bad to ask and roll off?

Hi fishes, I recently got an offer from Epam anywhere (Lead Software Engineer A4) - 30LPA and Uplers - 32LPA (offer being rolled out) So far i really like EPAM anywhere as an employer but overall CTC is not satisfactory.. I am aware of their 50k bench policy but i think i can ask for a fixed CTC as per the new salary structure (correct me if i am wrong here) Do you guys think i can counter EPAM anywhere with the higher offer. What's the salary range for Lead Software Engineer A4?@ TIA

What does bench life look like for you? For me a typical day looks like this 9 am- sign in and check emails 930-11 : look for a new job 11-2 lunch and nap 2-3 : sometimes meetings, mostly begging people for billable work 3-4:30 - proposal work if I have it or more job hunting 5-9pm family time and dinner 10-3am - netflix, videogames, cry myself to sleep
