Hello, I've been in TCS since the beginning of my career and this is my first attempt to switch. After 2 technical and managerial rounds, they have scheduled an HR discussion. My YOE is 5.5 and my current CTC at TCS is 6.4 LPA. Can anyone please suggest me how much expected CTC I should go for in the HR discussion ? DXC Technology Tata Consultancy

You're not alone! That's what made me make the move 6 months ago. While in house, I've felt like the money would be nice, I'm so much happier and less stressed day to day and don't feel bad taking an extra long walk with my dog or spending more time just vegging on the couch with my wife. It's been worth it so far
Yes. I felt this from day one in biglaw. I cannot believe so many people just exist like this in perpetuity. And I've only been here like 9 months.
But I'm on my last month! I am moving to a government position in July that pays half of what I earn now, but is still six figures which is plenty. Strict 40 hours weeks, overtime is compensated in extra vacation time. I can't wait to get back to my life.
Super nutty. I honestly did not believe people lived like this until I saw it myself.
Yes, 100%. Kind of surprised this happened but here we are.
Who eats a salad at 7pm when working late? It’s sushi or bust
Good for you! You are far from alone in feeling this way, just one of the relative few brave enough to act on it.
No, you’re not alone at all. This is the sad reality of many legal jobs. I’m 6 months into taking a year hiatus. It’s amazing how crazy I felt when I first left. I have no idea yet what I’m gonna end up doing, but you may want to consider just taking some time off if you have the cash savings. Sometimes that perspective is needed. Burnout blows, and you’re thinking about life during burnout is exaggeratedly awful. Take some time off and go somewhere. Then think about what you want to do or if you want to return. Don’t burn bridges on the way out.
Nope! I never approached the firm to ask about it. Due to life events I told them I need to take some time away and that was that.
Litigation paralegal here; gosh I feel your pain; at least you’re brave enough to admit it; every weekend all I want to do is stay in pjs, eat, sleep, don’t want to see people or talk to them for that matter; try to watch shows etc, never finish them, the tv watches me passing out😂has been a never ending cycle for a while and I just be like: there has to be something better than this🙈I know
Hope your find your way pal! There’s so much more to life than work. The corporate world has really taken advantage of our desire to do good work and find meaning through work for far too long.
Yes. This is why all the rundown shacks on small islands in the middle of nowhere now cost $500k, at the very least. And yes, I'm taking steps to get one and go there.
I'm also thinking about buying one...
I’m a paralegal in corporate biglaw and it’s a lot, but I really empathize with the associates!
This was me two months ago. Went in house.

What year are you?

Yes
This is me right now. I'm a 5th year and honestly don't know how much longer I can take it. Thinking about exit options
Same here on all counts
