A deck is a littttle bit different than an app, but for me it would depend on the length and the type of info that needs to be conveyed. If it’s mostly text, I would charge maybe $350 flat minimum. If it’s graphic heavy, I would charge $500 flat minimum. That’s assuming you’re making a deck for a pitch to someone, which means quick work (aka 72 hrs or less).
There are tons of factors. See what the length is, the info you need to design around, when it’s due, and if you’re the only one doing it. If you’re doing hourly, set up a contract. Just be careful to not let them overwork you :)
Everyone’s remote these days, but where you’re located is also a factor in standard rates. What’s a few hundred dollars in a small town is several thousand in a major city. I’d ask peers in your area what standard rates for slide decks are.
How long was this boot amp? And do you have any other design experience?
It was about 1 year. I don’t necessarily have a design experience other than the projects I worked on for the bootcamp, but I’ve also been shadowing the ux team and working on a design challenge at my current work.
Hope that helps! :)
Super helpful!! I’ll definitely discuss the scope of the work and draft up a contact — thank you so much!
Thank you so much! I’ll reach out to peers in my area. :)
