From what I've heard from other people with disabilities, finding work in general can be a challenge. The ADA does prohibit employers from discriminating against qualified persons with disabilities. However, without having a record of a disability, the ADA doesn't do much. Disclosing your disability is often best done sooner rather than later, but sometimes you might have to withhold that information at least until you land the internship. As a side note, always remember to tailor a portfolio for every application.
SA1 I think this is a great idea. OP should probably withhold until after the internship/job offer is signed & they are in the onboarding process. Make sure you pass the waiting pd some companies have to decide if you’re a good fit though— where they can terminate u on any grounds.
I think marketing is a hard industry to get into without experience. If your interest is a particular subset like design or analytics, try to have a project to show— whether it be something simple like you ran an ad for your Instagram and was able to get a ton of followers or a whole set of mock ads for a company.
Unfortunately, I can’t provide a lot of help but hiding your disability sounds really awful (also against the law to discrim vs you), but having a art portfolio had gotten me my jobs at the accounting firms I have worked for because I was “unique.” That’s what the Big 4 wants anyways lol.
