Hello! I need some insight here. I was part of a massive layoff 2 months ago. I accepted an offer and have been working at my current job for a week. I forgot to withdraw for another application and I was just contacted yesterday by FIS Global with an offer. I’m not sure what to do. FIS Global has slightly better benefits but I’m scared about the job stability. It’s what worries me the most.

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! Turns out the salary and benefits were meant as lowkey bribes to insure I worked at the company without actually doing any work. Every single suggestion I've made has been shut down and I've been ghosted for several meetings with the CEO. What should I do? Just leave?

I got an offer from IBM Consulting Canada to join their Hybrid Cloud Computing Group as an Associate Partner - Multicloud in the Financial Services Sector. I recently started my first post-college job as a software developer and have to make a decision pretty soon: front-end development or back-end development. I really like being closer to the user and the creativity as far as front-end. But I also reallly really enjoy math and logic and the more complex side to back-end. My dream would be to do full stack but thats not an option. Scared of getting pigeon holed. Any suggestions as to what to do / tips?

Our temp who has about as much experience as me but is definitely not as good at getting things done told me that he makes $115k while I’m just making 95k. I spend so much time teaching and training him. Almost as much time as I spend doing my own work. Been at the company for a year. Learned so much since I started and invested lots of my own money into more tech training that the co refused to pay. Is it realistic to get up to 115k soon or should I find another job?

I find ebooks convenient for most of the things as it is easier to search for notes and annotations. On the other hand, paper books are a great companion by the desk for a quick reference.

With recession insight in upcoming months. Which industry do you think would be most impacted and how much impact do you reckon will it have on our jobs?

Will recession hit service based IT companies more or the product based IT companies? In Product based, which industry will be most impacted. Will it be travel based companies, or financial banks based companies, or E commerce/consumer based companies, or any other? Where do you see the maximum impact?

I'm drowning in one-off business logic or planning requests ever since the last shuffle of devs. I'm the most senior, and def know the most, but on a team where our devs wear many hats, it means that I don't get to code nearly as much as I want to.

I also feel like these one-off requests do nothing for my career, as they're not seen as valuable to anyone other than the requesters.

Has anyone been in this position? What do I do to combat this?
