I wore them for a few years 100% of work time while traveling, driving, standing for 6 hours at events… and ended up with constantly shredded shoes and stress fractures in both feet, bc I didn’t realize that you are meant to wear them in stints, largely indoors, and not drag them across NYC concrete
Embrace the under desk shoe army for quick swaps. Life-changing ✨
For me one thing that works is making sure there is a platform. I also think Sam Edelman makes the most comfortable heels and I rarely get blisters if the sizing is right. I’m also looking for advice 🙏🏼
My solution is just mens oxfords. What are they gonna do? Say my shoes are unprofessional?

I like block heels because I feel like the minimize the pain of the heel. I also try to not play the the “break them in game.” If the there merciless uncomfortable when I first get into them, it is unlikely that I will wear them often or that I will be happy with them. Also, I like that they have some sort of cushion-y support on the soles.

I find wedges most comfortable to wear all day

I don’t think they’re ugly and I’m in my early 30’s. I’d much rather wear these than torture my feet in thin heels. You can also opt for flats, but they make my legs look chubbier

Higher end definitely does not equal more comfort. Agree with the Sam Edelman suggestion and generally just try them on in store vs order online. There are some decent ones.
I used to wear heels all the time - since the pandemic, I’ve only worn them to a handful of dinners 😳
Platforms are great, and I use dr scholls gel inserts. For brands, Nine West and Cole Haan.
I’m a Cole Haan & Franco Sarto gal myself 💁🏻♀️
Comfort depends on you feet shape too. For me, Vince Camuto work perfectly
Sarah Flint is maybe the comfiest for that style of silhouette, but unless you have super skinny and arched feet, heels are just not natural.
Cole Haan is pretty comfortable as they made wide width options as well. But just not as cute.
Someone told me they wear gel insoles but I haven't found ones that work for me yet

Nine West fifth 9X9 heels have padding inside and are super comfortable
I’ve always worn sheers or tights with heels. There’s less friction overall so I don’t get blisters. I usually do a lower heel (less than 3 inches) so the balls of my feet don’t hurt. Also find a brand that works with your foot shape / size.
Was wearing heels to work always pre-pandemic, also on NYC streets, never without including when travelling (10cm/ 4inch)
The Brand does matter, but price isn’t always quality. Choose a ‘shoe’ brand, I swear with LouBoutin and Jimmy Choo (Manolo Blahnik isn’t bad either 😀). The design of the shoe, the balance matters, the placing of the heel under the shoe etc. After my first pair never something else, slowly build the small collection and they last!
The honesty is also, practice and getting used to it is a factor. After a year pandemic on sneakers indoors it’s a bit harder to last a day on them in the office 🙄

My Fluevogs are super comfortable (and I’ve had bunion/hammer toe surgery in my past life and these are comfortable)

I was just reminiscing last night about how awesome it was for my parents to bring my sister and I to the John Fluevog boutique in Soho for a pair of shoes each when we were in high school. I can’t imagine how they afforded it at the time.. This was long enough ago that I had been introduced to Fluevog via Seventeen magazine 🤣

My Cole Haans pumps are very comfy
I switched the a startup. Sneaks every day. My feet are so happy!
I have narrow feet and never felt that a heel was comfortable until I tried one specifically made for a narrow foot. Like others have said, actually fitting properly is a game changer. Also, trying a thicker heel - also makes it a lot more comfortable.
26F in NYC here, LOVE my (don't judge this for this low tier brand) INC International Carma studded kitten heels. SO comfy and survived NY streets/subway stairs/you name it.
Sam Edelman Hazel. I can stand and walk in those all day and only slightly hate my life 🙂
