Hello! I recently got my first UX position. While I will eventually be able to do some research, I was hoping to eventually move to a team that is fully focused on User Research. I’ve been told that I should really get a Master’s (my company will reimburse me). I was wondering if there are any respectable online Universities that are relatively easy to get into, or if I should be looking outside my company in a year or so.
Help - have a really great exit opportunity (good team, exciting role, etc.), but got weird vibes from the hiring manager during the interview process. He seemed somewhat condescending and just overall not very nice. It’s a small ~20 person start up and he’d be my direct manager so I’d be working with him closely. Reason to not take the job?
10 YOE total, 5 years post MBA, and currently a senior manager at my firm. What’s the right level I should be shooting for with an industry exit? Are Senior Manager roles too junior, or should I really be holding out for an associate director/director role if I don’t want to take a step back?
Can anyone at TRINITY life sciences help me understand key differences between the senior consultant and engagement manager role? Any info on the value, access, and pricing team would also be helpful!
Please feel free to DM me

Prepping for a loop for a non-tech manager role based out of Austin. Recruiter couldn’t share level, but estimated TC Y1 range of $150-$160. Does this sound right? Any thoughts on breakdown between base/bonus/RSU? Coming in from a Big 4 tax role in MCOL, so not familiar with tech comp/Austin benchmarks.
So I recently accepted a position to become director at another healthcare organization in my area. I’ve been at my current job 4 years. Any suggestions on the resignation letter? I don’t want to share too much but I report to the head of my hospital and have mixed feelings on what to share.
Lazard Hello I need some advice. Basically, I am a newbie to IB and I got a first phone interview for an IB Analyst position. It went great and I could feel it. They said there would a super-day. I would like to well prepare for this super day given my background is not finance. Where should I find appropriate materials to study? I may or may not be invited to a super day but I would rather be well prepared. Thanks!

Hi all - need some motivation here. I thought I knew what i really wanted my career path to be but now I am 28 yrs old and just realizing how much I connect with the UX program, based on my skills and interest and also reading & research. I recently signed up for a boot camp to learn UX but I am feeling the imposter syndrome, feeling like I’m making the jump bcoz it’s a trend and not because I really like it. Help please!
UX/Product designers at large companies, what has your experience been like? I work for a mid-sized company but it’s a lot bigger than my previous companies. I feel like everything I work on has to go through so many different people and by the time it’s finalized I feel like the design doesn’t even feel like mine anymore. People also seem to overthink every little design decision which causes things to move so slowly. Do you guys have the same experience at a large company?

I've been in discussions with leadership of our startup about getting promoted from design lead to creative director, overseeing a team of designers.
My career coach asked me what salary I will pursue once this happens, and frankly I was clueless. I believe creative directors at startups in the Bay Area makes 20-40% more than I currently make. A title change in itself will be rewarding, but at the same time I would appreciate advice on navigating discussions about an increase with leadership.
I am having a serious creative block for a logo design..... ughhh help any tips? The brand is creative, digital and premium. (It's a marketing agency) The brand name starts with the letter M.... I can't think of anything but M!! It's core values are freedom of creativity, fearlessness, bold. Etc...
Having trouble picking work to present as case studies in my portfolio.
Problem I’m having is that the company I’ve worked at has pivoted so many times, and we have yet to ship our product till later this year or so. While I can say that the designs I’ve implemented have shown to have good usability in user tests, I can’t really say it’s yielded tangible improvement for our users or product, since we have no live users atm.
Any advice on how I can best frame/pick case studies?
Has anyone taken an online animation / video editing course before? My company will likely sponsor one but I’m not sure where to start. Would love to learn basics in premier and after effects pretty much. Thanks!

Has anyone worked for a company where co. is going through the transition to be design lead when it was previously business lead? I’m currently doing a bootcamp to pivot from Marketing to becoming a UX/UI designer and I am anxious to just *be* proficient at using Figma. I know it’s the industry standard, but I don’t feel like I know how to use it at all since it’s such a new program to me and I don’t know where to really start to learn how to be an expert. Does anyone have a good source, YouTube, or site I can use to become a pro at it? I’m very passionate about switching fields and want to just feel confident at this.
I'm struggling to get my team in Figma organized. Are there particular strategies your teams use to do this? We use Jira for project management, SDLC, etc. I think the biggest gap is managing snapshots of designs that are geared to specific cards in Jira. I also find it very hard to find particular designs within the project itself. Any best practices would be greatly appreciated. In the past I haven't had to be as hands-on in the design team, so plenty for me to learn.
