He seemed somewhat condescending and just overall not very nice. It’s a small ~20 person start up and he’d be my direct manager so I’d be working with him closely. Reason to not take the job?

10 YOE total, 5 years post MBA, and currently a senior manager at my firm. What’s the right level I should be shooting for with an industry exit? Are Senior Manager roles too junior, or should I really be holding out for an associate director/director role if I don’t want to take a step back?

I've been in discussions with leadership of our startup about getting promoted from design lead to creative director, overseeing a team of designers.
My career coach asked me what salary I will pursue once this happens, and frankly I was clueless. I believe creative directors at startups in the Bay Area makes 20-40% more than I currently make. A title change in itself will be rewarding, but at the same time I would appreciate advice on navigating discussions about an increase with leadership.

Having trouble picking work to present as case studies in my portfolio.

Problem I’m having is that the company I’ve worked at has pivoted so many times, and we have yet to ship our product till later this year or so. While I can say that the designs I’ve implemented have shown to have good usability in user tests, I can’t really say it’s yielded tangible improvement for our users or product, since we have no live users atm.

Any advice on how I can best frame/pick case studies?

I’m currently doing a bootcamp to pivot from Marketing to becoming a UX/UI designer and I am anxious to just *be* proficient at using Figma. I know it’s the industry standard, but I don’t feel like I know how to use it at all since it’s such a new program to me and I don’t know where to really start to learn how to be an expert. Does anyone have a good source, YouTube, or site I can use to become a pro at it? I’m very passionate about switching fields and want to just feel confident at this.

I'm struggling to get my team in Figma organized. Are there particular strategies your teams use to do this? We use Jira for project management, SDLC, etc. I think the biggest gap is managing snapshots of designs that are geared to specific cards in Jira. I also find it very hard to find particular designs within the project itself. Any best practices would be greatly appreciated. In the past I haven't had to be as hands-on in the design team, so plenty for me to learn.
