I’m a product designer hoping to switch industries from the public sector to private. I am struggling because I’m seeing a lot of pushback on the fact that I don’t have industry specific work. I’m really curious how much working in a specific industry effects your career path.
I’m looking at some fintech jobs but ultimately want to work in hrtech? Like Gusto, workday, lattice, etc. would that potentially prevent that switch?
Also, anyone noticing more ui vs UX emphasis in jobs now?

I see the market value for L4 HR specialist is upto 16lpa .. can i negotiate here ? At any cost will it affect my offer to revoke ?
You ask them what is the band for the role. Normally they give as per the band . If you are relocating, you can ask them to factor in the cost of living and ask for more. From 4.4 to 16 is a bit far fetched . But try for atleast 12 fixed.
The band is L4 and i am looking for 11-12 lpa only as fixed not 16 lpa .. just want to understand is that a reasonable number to negotiate?
Yes you can. At 4 Years of experience , it's viable. Plus you are relocating.
Tell them you will need to move family as well and anything less than that will be difficult for you to manage. Also say that it's negotiable if you are really keen and don't want to loose out the opportunity.
Perfect thanks for the insight 👍
