You respond with: I’m available for consult. My daily rate is $1400/day.

It depends if you want to keep relationships there fresh or not.

If it is just one or two quick questions, then answer them to keep that connection strong. If they keep coming back and demanding significant time, ask for a consulting fee.

+1, a question here or there is fine but anything deeper and you should ask for $$$

Did you leave on bad terms? If it's just a few questions to tie up lose ends and help with the transition, I'd probably answer them so as to keep the connection and avoid burning a bridge. If it gets to be too much, or they were jerks to you before you left, I'd let those calls roll right to VM.

Leverage the opportunity to become a consultant. I may be biased, but I personally prefer consulting.

Do St Regis all have same category / points rate per night?

Just took a pregnancy test and it is ++! This is our 3rd, I am excited and we planned for this, but man the accountant in me can’t stop processing the numbers. Instead of focusing on our budget today (and the insane cost of daycare), help me find a fun way to tell my husband! My first I gave him the test and a little baby outfit from his alma mater, second I just said it while we were talking about how nice it is that our first is a good sleeper. Any fun ideas would be appreciated!

I’m expecting to get an offer that at best matches my current salary but likely lower. The offer does come with RSUs that are “expected” to increase a lot in value. It doesn’t sound that great but I’m a bit burnt out. What would you do in my position?

What do you use for invoicing? I currently just use a google doc and create simple invoices but is there some program that would be better? Maybe something that would also track the money going out and in? I don’t think I want to get too complicated and pay for quickbooks but I’m open to suggestions.

Anyone here at pwc and recently went on maternity leave? How many weeks did u take? And do you accrue pto during that time? I would think you can use disability benefits first and then add the 8 weeks parental leave and then use your pto. Just didn’t know if you still accrue during your paid leave. Thanks

Live in SJ and thinking about moving back home around McLean area. Shocked though at how expensive the housing market is there as well. It’s actually about 75-80% cost compared to SJ…. Anyone with insights in that area? Will it cool down or seems like will continue to go up? For reference a 3500 sq ft place is around $1.8M

I’m watching Bald and Bankrupt on YouTube (an English Russian-speaking guy who travels rural areas in the former Soviet states and speaks with people - recommended!) Most of the people he meets are dirt poor, but they seem so happy and carefree. Meanwhile, in the US you have biglaw companies who think that an extra 5 figured sum of money will make associates happy to ruin their lives. The human and their mind was not created to live in today’s pure capitalist society.

Help me out, everyone seems to be having much milder symptoms with Omicron. Is the hospital capacity issue due to people panicking and going to the hospital despite having mild symptoms or because staff are out with illness? I don’t understand how the medical system is on the brink of collapse right now. Maybe I have a skewed view of Omicron based on anecdotal experience?
