Looking for some advice, would anyone here take a step back into their career for a role that you think you can grow in? Background: manager with KPMG people & change. I’m looking to get into an HR role but the issue is that I don’t have any HR (generalist) experience. I came across an internal role at KPMG but it’s a level lower than what I am in right now

How likely is it to negotiate with McKinsey & Company on an experienced hire Associate offer? I am in final stage with Bain, OC&C and OW as well, would mentioning these firms help with my bargaining power, or rather hurt my relationship with Mck?

Fwiw, I really clicked with the people I met at Mck, so it is the firm for me. But as an exp hire (from another T2 firm), I was hoping to see what wiggle room I have to better the terms in my offer.

TIA.

Know someone earlier in their HR career that’s looking to get certified. It’s been a while since I originally took the exams and have just recertified since. Which is more valuable or preferred these days…PHR or SHRM-CP?

like

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Good morning,

I can really use some insight from an HR Director or higher. Is anyone available? This is extremely important

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance.
I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members.
Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?

I recently joined a company of 400 people as the only Talent Acquisition Specialist. I feel like the role I'm doing is so much more than a Specialist level. I feel I'm being underpaid and my title doesn't actually align with what I'm doing. I feel like a Manager. I'm trying to recruit on 15+ different positions while trying to manage so many other ongoing projects and requests. How do I bring this up without sounding like I'm complaining? Is it worth saying something?
