Hello. I work as and HR DEPT of 1 with a non- profit 180 employees. Healthcare/ Senior living industry.

I have 6 years of HR experience most of them as generalist. Currently I’m the HR Manager.

Like many here, I’m feeling burnt out, overworked, sometimes feeling under paid.
I’m at 95k annually and my medical benefits are covered by employers including dependents. Total comp around 120k.

Am I in the wrong for feeling like it’s not worth my mental health?

You’re not wrong for feeling stressed. The burnout is real. I have 130 employees and an assistant but I also handle payroll. You should ask for help or a raise. Whichever will ease your burden most.

Thank you

I checked his hinge profile and he updated his location to NYC from the town we live in hundreds of miles away. Im gutted. What would u do? I know its early, pls dont shame me :(

Hi Fishes as I have got promoted to Senior 1 there New senior Program happening. Will there be Travelling or virtual event? Any insight on it? Will we get goodies for Promotion?

Mid-level expecting 1st kids (twins) in the next six months. Firm offers approx 3 months of leave in total, which can be taken all at once or split into 3x 1-month, or 1x 2-month & 1x 1-month chunks.

I don't think I want to take it all at once at birth, but I'm a bit worried about having to wind down & back up 3x if I split it into 3 periods throughout the year (idea being that we could do some traveling/visiting fam & be around at dif times of their growth if split 3x).

Thoughts?

I am a Corporate Recruiter in the Metro Detroit area at 90k with about 8 years of recruiting experience in various sectors. My boss is a super micromanager and is condescending the way she speaks to me. I am considering taking a paycut of about 10k just to get my sanity and work life balance in check. Am I doing the right thing? I am also considering getting out of recruiting all together but don't have any ideas of what I could do. I don't have asignificant other, thus no one else to rely on.

I received a lot of wonderful advice from so many people. I was also able to 'research' and look at some other related posts talking about the same topic. All that to say, is because of your advice, I had the resources to negotiate my salary and as a result also received a promotion.

Just wanted to say thank you all, and to remember to always advocate for yourself!

Hi! I’m interviewing for an HRBP role at an entertainment/events company based in Los Angeles. I disclosed my range as 105k+ and the recruiter was transparent that the top range of their base salary is 90k, where I’m at now. In a perfect world I’d like to jump 5-10k with total comp totaling 100k+. This is a very similar role to what I’m doing now and honestly I would consider a lower base to get my foot in the door at this new company. Thoughts & feedback? YOE in HR = 4.5 & I have my SHRM-CP.

Welcome to the Salaries in HR bowl! 💸

For the best response to your post, please include the following:

Your location or HCOL/MCOL/LCOL ("high cost of living" city etc), years of experience, and any other relevant information for context.

Ex: "Recruiter with 5 YOE, MCOL city just offered a full WFH position with great WLB and benefits - but a pay cut at 80k. Should I take it?"

These variables have a great affect on salary and you'll get better answers the more details you provide.

Cheers!
