Hi everyone! Curious if anyone here works for Slack and can shed a little light on the culture and perhaps offer a referral for an associate brand manager position I just saw on LinkedIn. With the Salesforce acquisition are SF employees allowed to refer for Slack roles? Currently a senior analyst with 4 YOE looking to break into a branding role! Thanks in advance.

I honestly thought I deleted the post. I kind feel bad that it was still up there. It’s fun to jam on NWM but I don’t really like trashing on someone’s work place. Not worth taking down now though 😂
Keep looking…
Are you working directly for a rep there? Or for Northwestern Mutual directly?
Having been successful there at the start of my career and then leaving to broaden my impact and to better serve people, it’s not your best option. I would encourage you to keep looking.
IF, it’s your only option, you may be able to learn some things to propel you to a better place later down the road.
Depends, if you are working directly with a rep, that sounds like admin work. Did they give you a job description? The job description should tell you in details what the position is about. It could be submitting applications and communicating with clients as needed, or it could be being on the phone for the advisor to get appointments scheduled for the advisor to meet with prospects.
I would agree with people that said don’t do it…..they gave hounded me for years for various “opportunities” I consider it to be the amway of financial services
Great analogy lol
No
Temp salary then straight commissions from your referrals…
I knew someone who worked for a high-level NWM rep as an assistant and it was real, mainly reviewing fund ppw / admin stuff
If its a job managing something specifically for a large NWM rep who is basically and RIA clearing via NWM could be acceptable
Anything that they put out other then that is a complete scam and was of your time, unless you just use them for a licence and jump with in 6m after getting 7 , 66, SIE
There is a reason NWM is a pariah in the industry. I think the comments abv have basically explained.
I work for a transfer agent in the same position. You’ll more than likely own a shared inbox and answer their questions, open tickets to resolve issues, manage projects, communicate changes or problems but mostly just being available for the investors to reach out. It’s a glorified customer service job. Unless you’re just trying to get your foot in the door I’d look for a job that’s not client facing it’ll provide less stress and more flexibility.
I wouldn’t go for it, waste of time unless you are okay with commission structure with no salary and contacting all your family members and friends to get them to sign up for life insurance
