Monday's aren't easy. The end of a fun weekend and the start of a dreaded work week, right? What if I told you that this doesn't have to be the case. I am excited this morning, as I am every morning, because I love what I do and work for such an awesome company, TidalHealth!

I’m bias. I’m currently an administrative assistant and plan to go into management. I’ve seen other admins do that easily. A certification would help with the transition into management so you can specialize in social work.
Nursing is an awesome profession but like anything it requires alot especially if you have to go back to school.
I personally think Social Work and management could overlap if you find the right position. Though we need more good nurses right now!
Hey There I’ve been in the healthcare field for 19 years started out as a Medical assistant and worked my way up the ladder. Started as a CCMA, Lead MA, MA Supervisor and then Practice Manager all with an Associates Degree and my Medical Assistant Certification. What I would suggest is to truly determine your career goals. Once you figure out what you really want to do then I would suggest to create a career plan and determining if your current employer offer career growth opportunities. If they do start researching the role you are seeking for example if it’s an office manager position or practice management role you seeking research the description and requirements. Cross reference the skills you currently have and what you will need the same for educational requirements. If there’s something missing for your ideal role work towards it. I would also suggest speaking with your current manager and inform them of your career goals so that they can help you find professional development courses to help your growth. Also build your network, as well as your personal brand. Associate yourself with those you want to become….and shadow them, seek them as a mentor. My point is figure out what you want first, and then follow up with the rest.

Personally, I think social work is most rewarding but also the most draining in some ways. Management means better earning potential, maybe. RN would also be a good path. What do you value the most?
If you're looking to jump into management, your best bet is strengthening your network and acquiring certifications for healthcare management.
With my 10+ of experience in health care I’ve learned that people who have a medical license (RNs) have better admin opportunities and quicker.
