In DFW right now, you probably will miss out a little bit, but that's the trade off.
No state taxes, cheaper COL makes it worth it imo.
$100k here gets you enough to raise a family comfortably.
It might be overrated imo. Perhaps I’m more of an introvert so I don’t care much about those artificial network, but you can make up for it using many diff ways (like frequent zoom meetings or fly there for certain office events)
I like Dallas
You’re a consultant? I assume you travel and have clients and teams across the US. Living in Dallas won’t slow any career progression down. If you do your work well, it really doesn’t matter where you live these days.
Good point. If you’re not trying to go back to NYC to work at a large bank or PE shop it probably doesn’t make much of a difference in the long-term.
Rising Star
I personally would not have moved to DFW if my career and network was not already well established. Things are slower here, so in my opinion not an ideal place to be early on in one’s career. But that’s just my take, it all depends on what you’re looking for. Whatever the case, just make sure you have a spouse locked down before moving lol because the dating scene here is dry
Thanks to you all!
