hi I make an obscene amount of money and want to know if I will be comfortable in another west coast dickensian nightmare
Yes. That’ll be enough.
370k should be fine, but money will probably be tighter than you’d expect. Also, take RSU vesting into consideration (at first, your monthly take-home pay will just include your base salary)
Depends on the cash component, whether or not you have a partner who is also working, and how you define a decent life. In general it should be doable.

It’s harder to manage on a single income but still possible, assuming at least half of your salary is cash
Family of three - I’d plan to spend ~$6000/month for a nice 2+ bedroom
I second ^. ~1.75-2M depending on the neighborhood
what is the cash comp component
Given the cash component and renting in the SF Bay Area, for a family of 3, on one income, it would be tight. Ultimately, it would depend on where you want to live and your willingness to commute.
In a similar situation, but moving from Midwest. Rents are insane!

I live in the Bay Area and am currently visiting my parents in Cleveland. My mom told me about this « crazy » new trend that is happening in Cleveland…people paying more than asking price for a house!
I couldn’t even pretend to be shocked. 😂🤣😭😭😭😭
Don't be a jerk. Your salary is fine. If you can't make it work on that salary, you've got bigger issues.
