Each situation is different, however It doesn’t hurt to try. Bring forth the evidence as to why you should get such a significant increase. The worst they can say is no… in which case you’re in the same situation you’re in now.

It is possible, I was in your position and am receiving a 25% increase. (Without having a competing offer)

That’s a high increase you’re requesting without having an offer. While you may have a point I. Being underpaid if you are performing well, it’s a hard sell to get 30% increase overnight.

I would go out into the market and come back with an offer that’s within your new expected range and take it to your boss. If they value your work they will do their best to match it. If not, be prepared to leave. There is no such thing as loyalty to teams anymore.

Liking an environment is not going to give you a bigger paycheck. You might find the same environemnt somewhere else with >30% increase in salary. Change is good and it is rare for a company to give 30% increase in salary even with promotion.

I’ve been offered a position that I’m really excited about. Their initial offer was 10K more than the top of the salary range they gave me for the position when I asked during the interview process and at the top end of the salary requirements I set for myself. My partner thinks I should still negotiate for more even though I’m happy with the offer. Am I an idiot if I don’t negotiate in this case? Realistically, I don’t think I’d get much more than that, but should I negotiate out of principle?

I love my job and the people I work with, but there’s one thing that really bothers me: the lack of diversity. Sometimes when I walk into the office and see everyone else around me as the only POC, it feels kind of weird. I don’t think anyone here has ever said anything racist or sexist to me personally, but I don’t feel comfortable talking about these issues with anyone because they might take it personally and then things could get awkward between us.

Currently going through some negations on an internal role. I’m currently at 88k and they offered me 100k for a position that requires a lot more work. Do you guys think it’s easier to land a higher salary when applying externally rather than internally? Also this is for a territory sales management role. I’m on a 6-month extendable contract and my manager really likes me; she always says that they want to convert me ASAP, however they don’t have the budget right now to hire me. They plan to hire me by the end of the year (7-month mark) but that means I won’t get paid for 3 days during thanksgiving and a whole week during December. 3 years ago I asked for a compensation review/raise, went through what felt like a ridiculous 8 MONTH long process of defending why it was warranted, only to be told no. 3 months ago I asked again and it has gone nowhere. Hello All, Office Sup. for a major hospital, w/ 15 years experience. I have lots of experience in every position in the office, especially in training. I recently applied for an EPIC trainer position within the company and according to Glassdoor the average pay is about 23k more than what I currently make. The range was the same/lower than what I currently make, and their role was for a more senior position. I gave a highball range but I figured there would be some negotiating. Hi everyone!
I work at a big med tech company as product manager. I have multiple markets under my responsibility. I am turning 30 in few weeks and I hold an MBA.
Currently I am earning 73k gross yearly in Belgium. I feel that I settled for less than what this role could have given. What should I do? Is this a good average salary for product managers? I need to negotiate a raise but manager is greedy and difficult

Has any one negotiated periods of time off ( around a month) based on certain objectives met? Was thinking perhaps negotiating unpaid leave for pursuing other interests / family time.
