I've asked a few questions for my sister, passing another one along.
Is there defined promotion criteria from LA to SA? Or does it depend on admin chain, org, and/or politics?
She is looking at LA positions now as a potential comeback kid, and while she was at BAH 10+ years ago, she's forgotten the details, though they'd likely be severely outdated even if she remembered.
TIA!

Hey,
Is it a good idea to join Paypal for Software Engineer III from Walmart Software Engineer III, for the base salary of 35LPA and 9L RSUs per year for Chennai location ? I am currently withdrawing 24LPA as base and 4.2 as Variable and 3.5L RSUs vested for 4 years.
I have been told that I'll be part of Risk team under Paypal Transactions domain. Any Idea how is the work culture and tech stack here in this team?

Stay active and eat a lot of protein to reduce nausea and fatigue!
So sad that those two things seem next to impossible in the first trimester, but they really do help 😅
Work out. I had severe morning sickness...well really all day sickness until 10 weeks. Working out really helped.
I wish I could workout. Any time I’m not working I have to sleep. Even when I’m supposed to be working I sometimes find myself sleeping with my eyes open 😭😂 exhaustion is REAL.
Check out expecting better by Emily oster. More modern info on what actually is a no go.
Completely agree this is the only book worth reading. She also has a great newsletter!
No overeasy (or any uncooked yolk) eggs. That’s my favorite and I’m very, very sad about it.
Check the research on this….many sources now say it’s ok. A slightly runny yolk is very, very low risk.
Half of my skincare regiment was a no-go.

I’m a big fan of 15 Minute Beauty, which is researched and written by a pediatric critical care doctor who has kids herself. Sometimes she’ll go through brands in detail and other times product types (e.g. sunscreen) so you can figure out what is pregnancy-safe, breastfeeding-safe, etc. She explains in detail what ingredients in products are unsafe and why.

This is kinda the opposite of your question but I’ve read and been told no coloring your hair but I just asked my OB and she said it’s completely fine. She said if I felt better about it to not have the hair color touch my scalp so like only highlights but she said honestly you can get regular hair color

I just want to say that a lot of these things are a bit outdated or it honestly depends on your risk factor. You can take baths, but they cannot be over 98 degrees, eat over easy eggs from a reputable organic market and you’ll be fine, also no gardening?! I have never heard that. I also frequently dye my hair with semi perm dye ammonia free and it’s totally FINE. Consult with your OB, def not the inter webs :)
Thanks! I certainly have an appointment to discuss this with my PCP and OB just seems like there are so many random things out there!

Yeah I mean just think about all the crazy stuff our grandparents (and parents) ate, did, whatever in their generation. Obviously be safe and don’t eat like high mercury fish or sushi but I even know women who have continued eating sushi from reputable spots. Being pregnant does not need to be misery. It’s like how they say now Tylenol shouldn’t be used. That’s craziness!

That’s what I mean! There are so many varying opinions. It comes down to what your OB approves and also what you’re comfortable with. I too take extra strength Tylenol lol. It’s the only thing that helps my headaches!
No Chinese food 😑
Wow! I would change doctors if mine said that 🤔
No massage guns like the theragun.
The hormones from pregnancy make pulling muscles very easy, I’m guessing that’s why some would advise against those massage guns.

No deli meat. Been craving a Jersey Mike’s since. 🤤
Not gonna lie, I’m 8 months pregnant with my second and I have had a ton of Jersey mike’s 😂. If you’re worried, you can heat the meat through, but it’s a pretty low risk food still.
No heating pads :(
I use mine on my back nightly, approved by doctor! Just avoid belly and lap!
No gardening.
There are ways to safely garden. The concern here is about potentially being exposed to animal feces but if you’re careful (wear gloves) or you garden in areas that don’t have animals (eg a balcony) then it should be fine
