Starting soon at McK as an undergraduate hire, is it normal/inoffensive to state to my DLG that I’d be interested in pursuing relatively expeditious promotion timelines and am willing to do the work to achieve that goal? Or will it come off as arrogant/foolhardy (happy to hear from all MBB because I am guessing it might be similar)?McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
What is the real deal across MBB, Tier 2, Big4?

Hows WLB @ Strategy& ? Better worse same as MBB?
Hello, I am an MBA candidate at Boston College (class of 2024) and I am looking into Summer 2023 internships in consulting. My concentration is Corporate Strategy/M&A. Would love to connect with folks in Consulting especially MBB (McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group), EY-Parthenon, Accenture, and Deloitte
My batchmate from old IIM is working at BCG after graduation in 2021 and told me that he has been working on tech strategy kind of projects. Is this normal? I thought MBB means pure strategy/due diligence projects. I am working at a big 4 and am doing similar tech consulting type projects. Was actually preparing for case interviews hoping to crack a MBB or Kearney type firm. But now worried. Can someone share some more info about projects at mbb. If he wants to talk he’ll find time for you.
Do not pursuit a man. Period. Do not make yourself so available.
If you already took initiative and he isn’t reciprocating, it’s time to move on! Like the other post said, if he wanted to, he would.

It’s a little unrealistic to expect him to talk to you when he is busy working… how different of time zones are we talking about?

Yeah I’m sorry it sucks. But I don’t think it’s worth it. You’ll just feel more and more frustrated because he won’t have any time for you the next 4 months. And he is going to feel exhausted every day from having to work so much.
Be sounds busy and no time to really dedicate to a relationship. I would put this relationship on ice till you two are back in the same city. You say it is only 4 months. I would stop obsessing over him and either find a hobby to occupy your time or start dating other people.
Yeah, recently I have been distancing myself from him, like not replying to text instantly and I see he has been initiating conversations and calling me. Do men need to feel distance before they come back again?
If he’s not investing in the beginning of the relationship, chances are he won’t ever. Me and my now bf are in different time zones. We’ve always lived in different continents. But the beginning of the relationship he went all out. We both wanted to talk to each other all the time (albeit work schedule didn’t allow it). Slowly his enthu died down. For months when we couldn’t travel due to covid, i was the one carrying on the relationship. He’s almost given up. But once we started meeting again, i couldn’t ask for a better, healthier relarionship. Turns out most men have a love language that is more physical (im not talking just sex, it’s just being able to touch your sig other) while women are more emotional.
That’s good to know that men like this exist!
